Dear friends, we are keeping all facilities in our hospital free for the public on 09 October, Thursday from 09:00 am to 4:00 pm for an eye camp in memory of my father Dr. N. Prabhakaran. We will be doing all consultations, procedures and tests totally free on this day.
All participants will be extended one more free follow-up visit on a pre determinded date for completion of treatment. Medicines will also be supplied free of charge.
We hope the facility will be made use of by people with BPL (below poverty line) ration card but we have not kept it as a criteria. We look forward to being of service to as many people as possible on this date that we dedicate annualy towards the memory of my late father.
Prof. Dr. N. Prabhakaran was a much loved and respected psychiatrist. His ever smiling face and calm composure reassured even acutely ill mental patients. His sense of humor coupled with a deep insight into the human mind helped solve long standing conflicts and strife in families. He retired from Trivandrum Medical College as Director & Professor of Psychiatry and Superintendent of Mental Hospital, Oolanpara. Remembering him on the fifteenth death anniversary, Divya Prabha Eye Hospital, is conducting an eye camp for the people of our locality.
The Dr. N. Prabhakaran Memorial Eye Camp project was inaugurated on 21st February 1999. Under the scheme poor patients referred by their local doctors or non-governmental organizations for cataract surgery are operated at a subsidized rate. The first patient was Samuel aged 55 years who had been an inmate of Mental Hospital, Trivandrum. He was diagnosed with mature senile cataract in both eyes and he underwent phaco surgery in both eyes with full restoration of vision.
We invite you to be part of this event wherein we dedicate one days work in the memory of our leading light.
