In 2018, Iru Studio introduced aerial yoga classes, providing The benefits of yoga include, endurance, strength and flexibility.
Since 2016, Iru Studio has been offering classes specializing in hatha style yoga, with an emphasis on alignment and technique so that every body type can experience the benefit of yoga asana. Additionally, mental focus and breathing techniques are strengthened through consistent practice.

Ramadan is a month of blessings, prayers and reflection. It is also a time to practice gratitude, charity and to connect with our family and friends.
It is the perfect time to honor the spirit of the month, by making space for living a life that is full of grace, intentionality and purpose.
Intentional Living is our first guided journaling and mindfulness program, focusing on building a soft life, during this Ramadan. A month of intentional living that will help you commit to the important things in your life; to learn to say no, to seek refuge from the daily grind and to focus inwards for peace and quiet.
This program is not about adding something new to this month. It's about learning what works for you; to live slowly, with mindfulness to meet your needs and goals this Ramadan. And maybe you'll pick up some skills you can use for the rest of the year. And in the process meet with a community of like-minded people.

Our regular classes "Challenge" held Sun Tue Thu at 5.30pm, will improve your strength, mobility and stamina as it combines poses with transitions and breathing through movement.
The intensity and style of each class will differ as you explore balance, flexibility and strength.

This 7 days beginners course is your entry way to Iru Studio style movement practice.
Iru Studio's Saturday Intensive, held from 11 Jan to 22 Feb, 2025, consists of introductory workshop based classes where we break down 75 poses with transitions, to build a self practice personalised to your capabilities.
Who can join?
This course is for you if you have a reasonable base level of fitness and no injuries. Please note this would a challenging, dynamic, strength based practice.

This two month program is designed for beginners looking to explore the benefits of muscle conditioning using isometric holds and proper breathing techniques to make you feel stronger and leaving you energised and refreshed.
After completing the two month program, you can join Iru Studio regular classes to continue your practice or personally explore movement safely on your own!
Who can join?
As this is for beginners, and generally a gentle practice that focuses on static poses and breath control, anyone in good health can join. Those requiring medical advice, kindly seek doctor's clearance before starting any movement practice.

We just wrapped up week 2 with an exploration of the spine and back muscles. We learned how the shoulders and quads played a crucial role in deepening the back bending poses.
We started the week with vinyasa style flow focusing on heart opening poses, followed by Hatha style slow, long held poses on Tuesday and on Thursdays, we used all the prop, blocks, wall, bolster and yoga wheel to access all parts of the backbending poses.

We have three teachers at Iru Studio, each with their own, unique approach to teaching so every class is different and every person who walks into a class can follow at their own pace and level.
IRU SATTAR
Iru Sattar, founder of Iru Studio, teaches evening yoga on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Iru is known for her strong vinyasa style classes, based on her background in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha yoga.
She’s big on props using blocks and straps in all her classes and focuses on exploring the connection between body and mind in each and every asana. She also leads the monthly meditation classes at the Studio.
MIMI SATTAR @lazulyte
Mimi Sattar can be found swinging on her aerial belt at Iru Studio. Mimi loves slow, mindful movement of hatha and burns off her crazy with intense HIIT workouts.
Mimi is the resident specialist yogi, teaching the weekly aerial yoga classes as well as working with the elderly women in her three times a week Gentle Yoga classes, to help women lead a healthier lifestyle. She also teaches kid’s yoga every Saturday, for students of Ghiyassuddin International School.
THAPPU @soleil.yoga
Shafya (Thappu) walked into Iru Studio three years ago to find a way to manage her anxiety and ended up as one of our favorite teachers. She teaches restorative yoga at Iru Studio, as well as beginner yoga at the Studio.
She’s your biggest cheerleader when it comes to teaching and would gently push you past your comfort zone and you can’t help but be thrilled when she smiles that beautiful smile of hers.
