Extending Hope Clinic which is located in Agabu Village, along Salima road in Ntcheu district is looking for passionate and suitably qualified candidate to fill the following vacancy.



Job Title : Medical Assistant


Job Specification :

The incumbent shall ensure the smooth operation and delivery of healthcare services within a clinical setting. Meticulously managing all aspects of the facility's day-to-day running. Be ready to work in remote area.

Duties and Tasks

• Responsible to order necessary drugs and other utility items for the clinic.
• Diagnose and prescribe for cases presenting at the clinic.
•Dispense drugs to patients and Providing guidance on medication adherence.
• Educating patients about their health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. (Healthy Talks)
• Refer serious cases to the district hospital.
• Initiate primary management of dental services.
• Conducting health screenings and assessments.
• Providing basic medical care services.
• preside over the administrative and management issues for the clinic.
• Any other duties deemed fit for the position.



Qualifications

Certificate in clinical medicine.
Minimum of 1year of experience.
Be Registered with Medical Council of Malawi.


Desirable personal attributes

• Use interpersonal skills: tact, patience and courtesy.
• Work as a team player.
• Follow directions, policies and procedures in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Great professional driving skills.

We are Extending Hope, a developmental organisation which is bringing hope to the hopeless. We have four pillars (departments) of hope namely; Education, Agriculture and Economy, Health care and Youth Evangelism.
The pictures you see here are of the department of Agriculture and Economy. We are farming in God's way where we don't apply fertiliser only manure... just imagine how beautiful our farm is looking.

13 STUDENTS GRADUATE WITH BIBLICAL CHRISTIAN WORLD VIEW CERTIFICATES

Thirteen students have yesterday the 5th of April 2023 graduated with Biblical Christian World View Certificates after an intensive three months training.

The graduation ceremony was held in Blantyre, Machinjiri area 5, at Extending Hope Organisation's administrative offices which was also a training base for the students.

Speaking during the ceremony, base leader of the training, Lonjezo Bandawe said that it was quite exciting to see students grow into different desirable areas of their lives regardless of challenges.

"As a base leader, my role was to try to make every student feel at home and win them into becoming great leaders, hence somehow it was not easy because each one of the students had their own way of thinking" he said.

He was also quick to point out that he has personally and professionally grown as he as gained leadership skills. He added that he was very happy and amazed to see students realize their dreams and graduate despite encountering some challenges.

One of the Guest of honours during the ceremony, Chris Scout from Germany implored the graduating students to put to required use of the knowledge attained, and that all activities in their lives should reflect Christian and biblical values.

Michelle Wehmann from Switzerland who was another Guest of honour, reiterated the need for the students to be put to practice the knowledge gained.

Amongst the students, Mosses Chabvi received a special recognition as an outstanding student interms of character, hard work and leadership skills.

Aside biblical areas, the students were also drilled in finance, project planning and development among others.

Biblical Christian World View is a course under the University of the Nations which is based in Switzerland and aims at making people see things the way God sees them.

On 25th march 2023 the Coordinator and communication officer for Extending Hope Organisation, Mr. Chifuniro Chikafumbwa had a visit to the homes and families of employees affected by Cyclone Freddy.

The visit was aimed at appreciating and analyzing the extent of damage caused by the tragic disaster and see what kind of assistance the victims needed to cushion their lives.

On 10th March 2023, Extending Hope International Primary School conducted a cultural day event aimed at celebrating and Instilling cultural understanding of the learners.

The event which was themed 'culture, a tool for social learning', saw learners from all classes showcase their respective cultural performances and activities which included wearing of traditional attire, traditional dances, and preparation of traditional food and beverages.

Speaking during the event, one of the teachers at the institution Steve Chirwa reiterated the need for learners to understand and know their cultural values, traditions and norms arguing that they help in cultural maintenance.

"You should know your culture so that you may be able to preserve it and pass it to your children in future" said Chirwa.

In attendance during the event was the school's overseer, Ibrahim Chitedze who commended teachers for organizing such an event; saying it will go a long way in shaping learners' knowledge of their cultural backgrounds.

The event was also attended by Peace Private School, which also performed traditional dances and recited poems.
