your brain is more powerful than ANY computer! 🧠

but… did you know Artificial Intelligence (AI) can also be used to support your mental health? 👀

MHLec teamed up with STEM Dorado Science to write “Mental Health in the AI Era”, an eye-opening article for young people aged 9–14, living in an ever evolving technological world. The article touched on:

- how your brain works
- what mental health really means
- how AI can (and can’t) help
- why YOU are more magical than any new robots or AI out there

Today we celebrate Malawi’s greatest resource, its youth! 🤍

With 6 in 10 Malawians under 25, our country is filled with energy, creativity, and the will to make change happen! 🇲🇼

Be it leading community projects, breaking barriers in entrepreneurship, or fighting for better mental health services, young people are making monumental waves. So this International Youth Day, let’s commit to listening to youth voices and investing in their ideas. Because they are our future 🫂

On the 30th of July, we held a youth-centered mental health policy workshop to collaboratively review a draft policy brief. We brought together youth orgs, educators, government reps, practitioners & passionate youth to review a youth mental health policy brief

The energy? Powerful! 🤩

Because youth know what they need, we just have to listen 🧏🏾

Swipe through to learn more on what a policy brief is and why shaping youth mental health policy in Malawi is so important!

And a special thank you to all that attended 💙

August is here and it’s for the YOUTH!

This month, we’re spotlighting youth voices: their ideas, experiences, and power to shape a better mental health future for Malawi 🇲🇼

Stay tuned as we amplify their perspectives, and celebrate what it means to be young, bold, and heard 🤍🫂

✨Today is International Self-Care Day! ✨

Self-care is more than bubble baths and spending sprees. It’s setting boundaries, speaking kindly to YOURSELF, taking breaks when you need them, and maybe a sweet treat 🤭🫣

Use this day to remember:
You deserve rest!
You deserve softness!
You deserve to feel whole!

This is your sign: you deserve rest and care too 🫵🏾

Not just when you’re exhausted. Not just when you’ve “earned it.”
But because you’re human.
Because your mind, body, and spirit need it to grow and be at peace

This month is about practicing daily self-care and that includes permission to pause, reset and connect with yourself 🤍

You deserve it 🫂

July Theme: Youth & Self-Care 🌱

Young people in Malawi and everywhere deserve the space to rest, reflect, and recharge.

This month, we’re focusing on simple, powerful self-care reminders that help us cope, grow, and protect our mental well-being.

Let’s build a culture where checking in with ourselves becomes a daily habit not just a crisis response. 💚

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s remind the men in our lives: you don’t have to carry everything in silence 💙

We are often told: men need to be tough. To grind. To keep going.
But unspoken pressure, work stress, and emotional silence are costing men their health and sometimes their lives 🫂

We need to normalize men saying: ‘I’m tired.’ ‘I’m overwhelmed.’ ‘I need a break.’

This month, we’re talking about the pressure men face at work and how mental health should be part of the conversation. And remember support looks like listening. It looks like checking in. It looks like a culture that doesn’t expect silence as strength.

Men’s Mental Health Month Reminder:
✅ It’s okay to talk
✅ It’s okay to rest
✅ It’s okay to ask for help

Tag a brother, friend, or coworker who needs this reminder today 💙

Let us embrace this months themes: understanding PTSD and showing up for the men in our lives ❤️
