Meet Mr Morton Gunsalu, the Board Chairperson of EmpowerX Consult Limited — a seasoned business executive with over 15 years of leadership across investment promotion, capital markets, financial services, and national sales management. He also sits on other boards for reputable companies in Malawi.

Currently serving as Investment & Trade Promotion Manager at Malawi Investment and Trade Centre, he works at the intersection of foreign direct investment, export development, and private sector expansion — facilitating strategic partnerships that drive sustainable economic growth.

As former CEO of Stockbrokers Malawi Ltd, he led corporate strategy and compliance oversight, delivering over 100% growth in funds under management and profitability, while strengthening governance frameworks and operational systems.

Mr Gunsalu holds a masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a
bachelors degree in Business Administration.

He is a Certified Investment Facilitator for Sustainable Development (ITCILO). He is also a qualified trader (RPE, Equities) with South African Institute of Financial Markets, eligible to trade on both Malawi Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

His expertise spans corporate strategy, investment facilitation, capital markets advisory, revenue optimisation, governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement — bringing disciplined oversight and commercial clarity to the EmpowerX Board.
