"Little by little, Juliet is getting stronger." – Juliet’s mother
Juliet’s journey has been full of challenges. After a severe illness shortly after birth, she was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. For years, progress felt impossible—therapy was far away, and her body remained stiff.
When our therapists began sessions in her community in July 2024, things changed. Together with her mother, we practiced gentle stretches and sitting positions.
By June 2025, Juliet could sit cross-legged, reach for toys, and hold them with better balance. Each small move is a big victory. With ongoing support, her future looks brighter every day.

"I never thought my son would sit on his own." – Sean’s mother
When we met 4-year-old Sean in September 2024, he couldn’t sit, crawl, or hold toys because of cerebral palsy. His mother, Shamim, had tried hospitals, but therapy was too far and most times unavailable due to congestion.
Through our Community-Based Rehabilitation program, Sean began therapy right in his community. Our team worked with him—and trained his mother to continue exercises at home.
Today, Sean can sit on his own and reach for his toys. His body is stronger, and so is his mother’s hope. With continued therapy, Sean’s progress is just beginning.

Together with the Ministry Of Health - Malawi Ministry of Gender, Malawi, pediatricians, and other specialists, we were co-designing developmental monitoring tools and systems.

Our focus was on improving the MDAT-IDEC tool to better reflect the Malawian context and roadmapping standardisation of developmental monitoring within Malawi’s healthcare system.

This collaborative effort marks an important step toward early identification and support for children with developmental delays and disabilities.

Our Story

Fount for Nations was founded by Patience Musiwa, a nutritionist, when she was 21 years old. She is passionate about education, particularly for children with disabilities. Having volunteered at hospitals and rural schools for 6 years, she was motivated to set up an organization that provides resources for those who have extra learning barriers to overcome for academic success. Fount for Nations is built on the foundation that everyone deserves equal education opportunities and everyone has something special to offer the world.
