Experiencing the fifth dimension

What is DMT? Medically known as N, N-dimethyltryptamine, DMT is a naturally occurring chemical found in many plants and animals. Humans also produce DMT in the brain. Like all tryptamine drugs, DMT acts on the brain’s serotonin receptors, which causes strong emotional and perceptual changes.

Unlike other hallucinogenic drugs though, DMT delivers intense psychedelic experiences within seconds of ingestion and the effects last only a few minutes. People who ingest DMT don’t develop a tolerance, and the drug’s psychological effects don’t diminish with repeated dosing.

Fear of Ayahuasca

There are two types of fear in those people who try to imbue themselves in the paths of "Madresita Ayahuasca". One is the previous fear of those who have not tried the plant, which fuels prejudice and ignorance. Another is the fear of those who, already in the ayahuasquera struggle, have seen and heard without support or anesthesia the naked truth of themselves and their actions.

Psychedelics permanently alter your understanding of what has "consciousness"

Those who have experimented with psychedelics often describe a sensation of connectedness with objects around them, things like rocks, trees, or rivers.
A single psychedelic experience can produce a broad increase in the attribution of consciousness to other things.

Maria Sabina, Mexican healer, and shaman

In 1955, an American named Gordon Wasson visited the town of Huautla with his wife who was a passionate mushroom enthusiast.
María Sabina, Shaman, allowed them to participate in a “velada” or a ceremony. Gordon collected spores from the mushrooms.
He sent the samples to a Swiss chemist named Albert Hofmann who was the first to discover the psychedelic aspect of them.
Wasson wrote a book about his experience of the ritual in Life magazine. In his article he didn’t reveal Maria’s name and location. But later on, Wasson two volumes of books called “Russia, Mushrooms and History” that contained information on the first “velada” with María Sabina’s son-in-law. Suddenly, everyone knew about her.
From then on, Maria Sabina, Shaman, became known as ‘the woman who introduced the mushroom’ or ‘Saint Mary of the Holy Mushrooms’.
She would give people magic mushrooms so they could achieve certain blessings such as good health for themselves and others, personal strength and even success at gambling.
The book that Gordon wrote opened the door to the psychedelic movement. Maria started to receive visits from many famous persons.
Supposedly, the Beatles visited her including John Lennon and even Walt Disney who apparently took mushrooms up to 6 times.

A naturalistic study published in the journal Scientific Reports provides evidence that the ceremonial use of ayahuasca can lead to significant reductions in neuroticism, a personality trait associated with depression and anxiety.
Ayahuasca, a brew used for centuries by the indigenous peoples of Brazil and the Amazonian basin of South America, contains the powerful psychedelic drug dimethyltryptamine (DMT) and monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Preliminary research has offered some evidence that consuming ayahuasca provides psychological benefits.
“Contemporary practices of ayahuasca shamanism appear to be at least 300 years old, and involve a rich and unique anthropological context including a distinct metaphysics and cosmology,”
“The ceremony experience is also unique in containing somatic challenge as the body digests the decoction, emotional challenge as the mind explores its core beliefs and assumptions, mystical experience, engagement with an elder shaman, and communion with other ceremony partners.”
Study author Brandon Weiss (), a research associate at Imperial College London.

Bye Bye PROZAC 👋

“Magic-mushroom therapy is offering some hope for these hopeless cases. In the Hopkins study, published last year in JAMA Psychiatry, the therapy was four times more effective than traditional antidepressants. Two-thirds of participants showed a more-than 50-percent reduction in depression symptoms after one week; a month later, more than half were considered in remission, meaning they no longer qualified as being depressed.”

“We're convinced that the effects of these drugs are pretty profound and that there is a story that will be relevant to understanding new approaches to brain disease," says Jerrold Rosenbaum, a Harvard Medical School professor, former psychiatrist-in-chief at Massachusetts General hospital and leader of its new Center for the Neuroscience of Psychedelics.”

After the Sacred Plant's Ceremony (Integration)

At a very basic level, the sacred plant's integration means cleaning up your act in support of your newly upgraded self. Job, relationships, diet, habits, mindset—all these are up for transformation in the weeks following ceremony.

A second aspect of integration involves shadow work. The sacred plant is a potent activator of the unconscious, bringing buried traumas, forgotten experiences, and rejected aspects of self to the light. We need methods for first tolerating, then working with and understanding these. Integration, in large part, is the process of absorbing and digesting this raw material; quite literally, incorporating it into your consciousness. This inevitably changes your perspective on life, self, identity, and purpose.
As we continue, the third level of integration emerges: the task of bringing soul to the world, showing up as our true whole selves. We begin to cultivate a way of being that is in touch with what really matters. Our fractured modern psyches have been disconnected from Nature and one another, with consumerism and digital distraction stuffed into the cracks to assuage the pain of separation. Truly integrating our work with the sacred plant provides an opportunity to heal who we are as individuals, and as a species

Childhood Trauma

According to a new study, there may be a way to reduce some of the effects of childhood mistreatment: taking psychedelic drugs.

Being mistreated – whether it comes as physical, emotional, sexual abuse, neglect, or some combination of all four – can always leave scars. However, when that mistreatment happens in childhood, the ramifications can be worse, going through long-lasting impacts on the victim's cognitive, affective, social, and biological development. Adults who survived childhood mistreatment are often left with emotional dysfunction, low self-esteem, internalized shame, and other personal and interpersonal issues.

What is the integration process after a ceremony of sacred plants?

Psychedelic integration is the process in which we take the insights and teachings from a visionary plant medicine experience and incorporate them into our daily life to make meaningful changes in our thought patterns and behaviors. An individual might be able to do this on their own if they’re committed to journaling, meditation, reflection, and other psycho-spiritual modalities.
Let us guide you through the integration process, visit: www.neholistic-retreats.com or e-mail: neholistic.retreats@gmail.com
