Confession: I'm a science nerd. Few things in life are such a fast track to me losing a few hours of the day as opening a book about the science of the body and movement, and actually more recently the science of the universe too...who knew physics was so interesting?! I missed that memo in high school.

Anyway back to the Cerebellum. If you're lost at the word Cerebellum don't worry, that's why I'm here! The Cerebellum is a fantastic part of the brain that firstly predicts how a movement will play out, and then monitors how the movement actually goes and makes in the moment adjustments - firing off signals through the nervous system to stabilise and make the movement go smoothly. Those wobbles in your ankle in tree pose are your Cerebellum doing its thing, making hundreds of micro adjustments every millisecond to help you adjust to life on one leg and eventually find the smoothest and easiest way to hold the pose - how cool! Research has shown that within a week of practicing new movements we start to see changes in the structure and function of the brain through a process called neuroplasticity (the brains ability to form new connections). At the risk of sounding like a parrot - how cool! After a period of between several weeks and several months of consistent practice, this fine tuning will have become automatic behaviour and we have what is then called a motor programme for that movement. As we want to keep strengthening the abilities of the Cerebellum and the mind body connections through the nervous system, this means we want to keep the Cerebellum working through the practice of new and novel movement challenges. Enter yoga! In yoga we challenge the Cerebellum through movements outside of our typical day to day activities - standing balances, arm balances, and creative transitions between poses get those micro adjustments firing! It's here! Welcome to the summer schedule ☀️

Power yoga has stormed the charts and become our most popular class, so you guessed it - we added more! If all power is not your vibe, don't worry, there are still more than enough options so that everyone can find the ideal class for them. Descriptions of each class can be found here on our page - look out for the "what is___" posts e.g. what is power yoga. If you still have questions pop us a message and I (Holly) will gladly walk you through all you need to know.

Something I am very excited to bring in is the introduction of a weekly special class. This is intentionally placed towards the end of the week so that I can observe the energy of our visitors that week and create a special class to match that. Some things you can expect to see popping up in the weekly specials are more workshop based classes, styles or combinations that don't appear on the regular schedule, and of course in the interest of always serving your needs - sometimes we will add in an extra of whatever class is in high demand that week. Some examples to peak your interest of what's to come are:

*everything you need to know about the shoulders
*Arm balance class
*Inversions class
*Chakra flows
*Mandala flow
*Yin yoga
*Vin to yin (vinyasa and yin combination)
*Special guest teacher appearances
& Much much more, I'm excited to work with your needs and really let my creative juices flow on this one. Requests are always welcome and appreciated 💚.

Our weekly sound journey specials will again be focused and lovingly curated each week based on the needs of our current visitors. Requests are always welcome. Some sound journeys you may see popping up are;
*Meditation and sound bath
*Yin yoga and sound bath
*Simply sound (a whole hour dedicated to the magical healing powers of sound and vibrations)
*Chakra focused sound journeys
&Much more.

Outside of our scheduled group classes private sessions are available for individual, couple, or group sessions. *Note that when the season is low, if there are no bookings for the 8am group class or the Friday sound journey we can also organise private sessions for these times, DM us to enquire.
