I have a view
One that you never forget
So beautiful, words can’t express it
I’m lucky, because I don’t have to hurry

They embrace me as if we were related
I sit here and breathe softly, so as not to disturb any of this

My friend Neil asked me awhile ago if he can rent my small house for one month , for his 93 year old Mum Corky to come visit . My small house is in the back of my yard , very private , quiet, save and secluded . I said yes , but also have to admit at the beginning I had some concerns because of her age and her needs . Well turns out this was the most loveliest experience I could ever have . Corky is an amazing woman , she is so fit , walks as fast as a rabbit and her mind is sharp . She though had her own 93 year old pace . So awesome how she enjoys that pace , waking up , breakfast , reading , napping , walking , eating , napping , crosswords , walking , friends coming and going , Spanish lessons , sleeping . Just delicious how she enjoys life . Today she left and she handed me a gift . A handmade wood sign , cause I love hanging wood signs in my garden . The sign say “ U CAN DO THIS “ she said when her husband died , she said I can’t do this without you and he kept on telling her U CAN DO THIS !
This gift brought me to tears .
And then she left .
And my Yoga class started and the first of my Yogui’s that came today is 5 month pregnant a beautiful woman . And I thought wow how assertive , today we celebrate the Day of the Death in Mexico, corky is leaving and i might not see her again in this realm , Miriam is carrying a new life .
Birth , life and death all so close together . A truly inspiring beautiful Day .

Lila, the Divine Play
A new flute was invented in China. A Japanese master, upon hearing the beauty of its sound, took the flute to Japan and played it all over the country.

Once, after playing the flute in a small village, there was hushed silence and then the oldest man present said: «Like a god.»

The villagers asked how long it would take to learn to play the flute like that. «Years,» said the master, but he was willing to take on a student. And so the villagers chose a talented and hard-working young musician, and the master gave him a simple melody, which the young musician managed to play. But something was missing. The student wanted to impress his teacher and kept trying, but something was still missing. He became more and more desperate and frustrated. He no longer enjoyed his music and eventually fell into poverty.

After a long time, he returned to his village and was persuaded to play again. He stood there full of shame, with his old flute in his hands. With nothing to gain or lose, he played. At the end of his performance, there was absolute silence in the room and an elder was heard to say: «Like a god.»

The Sanskrit word «lila» means «divine play» and encompasses the becoming and passing away of the cosmos, the play of the gods. It is the essence of creativity. In free play, there is nothing to gain and nothing to lose.
