Realizó sus estudios de Especialidad en Cirugía General en el Hospital General de México "Dr. Eduardo Liceaga", centro de referencia a nivel nacional y con alto volumen de pacientes. Posteriormente estudió la Alta Especialidad en Cirugía Endoscópica y la Alta Especialidad en Cirugía Bariátrica en el Hospital General "Dr. Manuel Gea González", instituto reconocido internacionalmente por sus aportaciones en cirugía de mínima invasión. Investigador Asociado del Institute for BioNanotechnology in Applied Medicine de la Northwestern University, Chicago IL, dónde también realizó estancias clínicas en Gastroenterología en el Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Se desempeñó como Profesor de Asignatura en la Universidad Panamericana y como Profesor Invitado en congresos médicos de la especialidad. Es autor y co-autor de numerosos artículos médicos en revistas nacionales e internacionales. Es autor de trabajos presentados en congresos médicos nacionales e internacionales de las especialidades de cirugía general, cirugía endoscópica y cirugía de obesidad. Sociedades: Asociación Mexicana de Cirugía General (AMCG), Asociación Mexicana de Cirugía Endoscópica (AMCE), Federación Internacional de Cirugía de Obesidad y Desórdenes Metabólicos (IFSO), Colegio Mexicano de Cirugía de Obesidad y Enfermedades Metabólicas (CMCOEM), Sociedad Médica Dalinde, Sociedad Médica Grupo Angeles.
