HAUS Focus: Crafting Stainless Steel

A signature LITE aviator front at the start of the manufacturing process; temples are shaped at a separate station. After all parts receive their multi-step surface treatment, which can mean PVD coating and/or handlacquering, they come together for assembly on the second-floor production in MYKITA HAUS.

Quality checks happen throughout to ensure flawless function and surface finish.

HAUS Focus: “Frontentisch”

It takes over 80 manual steps to complete one of our handcrafted stainless steel frames. The process begins at the Frontentisch (‘front desk’) where our master craftspeople roll and shape the cut-out frame fronts to create a three-dimensional shape through series of bending and folding steps.

Material Focus: Stainless Steel

Used in MYKITA frames since our very first collection in 2003, the material offers the precise balance of flexibility and tensile strength required for eyewear that is slim, durable and highly adjustable. Our signature frames feel ‘barely-there’ yet hold their shape over years of daily wear.

Our stainless steel contains 95% recycled material, combined with a small amount of raw steel to achieve the medical-grade quality our frames require. Any leftover material from our production is returned to our supplier as raw input. There, it is recycled in an electric-arc furnace powered almost entirely by fossil-free electricity, forming part of a closed material loop.

Confident Design with Weightless Feel

The LITE concept refines contemporary silhouettes into their most essential form: 3 mm temples and finely tuned construction make for light and perfectly fitted optical frames that simply feel a natural part of the face.
