Official Publication of the Porto Proclamation on Sexual Health, Rights & Justice
At the first-ever World Sexual Health Assembly in Porto, Portugal, the World Association for Sexual Health brought together global leaders from UN agencies, international and regional organizations, professional societies, academic and research institutions, and professional publications. Together, they built on decades of progress while confronting the growing backlash against sexual health and rights worldwide.
Today, the Porto Proclamation on Sexual Health, Rights, and Justice is published with the inaugural list of signatories.
This landmark document affirms that:
✨ Sexual health is integral to health and human dignity
✨ Sexual rights are fundamental human rights
✨ Sexual justice is essential for equality and inclusion
It marks a turning point - a shared agenda for global action and a powerful act of solidarity across regions, sectors, and communities.
We invite all organizations and individuals in sexual health and rights to help amplify this message of solidarity. What happened in Porto should not stay in Porto.
