How does age bring us sagging skin?
Sagging skin is a common sign of aging that occurs due to several factors:
Loss of Collagen and Elastin: As we age, the production of collagen and elastin—two proteins that provide structure and elasticity to the skin—decreases. This loss can lead to thinner and less elastic skin.
Decreased Fat and Bone Density: The fat beneath the skin can diminish over time, and bone density may also decrease, leading to a loss of support for the skin, contributing to sagging.
Sun Exposure: Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun can damage the skin’s connective tissues, leading to premature aging and sagging.
Genetics: Genetic factors play a significant role in how skin ages and can influence the degree of sagging.
Lifestyle Factors: Poor nutrition, smoking, and lack of hydration can accelerate skin aging. A diet lacking in essential nutrients may impair skin health.
Gravity: Over time, gravity pulls on the skin, which can contribute to sagging, especially in areas like the face and neck.
Rapid Weight Loss: Significant weight loss can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and not retract tightly, resulting in sagging.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, protecting your skin from sun damage, staying hydrated, and utilizing good skincare can help mitigate some of these factors. Acne
Acne is the most common skin disease, affecting at least 85% of teens and young adults aged 12 to 24. Acne is usually harmless, but can leave scars. Some people have short bouts of acne, while others may have recurring or persistent acne. Acne is common in teens because puberty disrupts hormones and produces more oil, which clogs the skin's surface.

Mild acne can be treated with moisturizing creams and home remedies such as certain tea tree oil creams. Studies have shown that excessive stress can cause acne, so relaxation techniques may help control acne. Moderate to severe acne is usually treated with medications containing Retin-A cream (tretinoin), azelaic acid, salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide.

Do you really understand melasma?

Melasma is a common, chronic, recurrent pigmentation disorder caused by hyperfunctioning melanocytes that deposit excessive melanin in the epidermis and dermis. Melasma is more common in women (especially those of childbearing age) and in areas of the body that are exposed to the sun (especially the face). Factors involved in the pathogenesis include genetics, sun exposure, hormone sensitivity, pregnancy, and medication (in some patients). Treatment of melasma is difficult and recurrence is common.
