A mountain of things to do and organise. The pressure to always be doing turns you into an ever more tightly wound spring.

For a Vervain type, this exacerbates their natural tendencies of rigid determination and tenacity which is evident in the strong, straight stem of the plant.

This focus in the face of stress leads to doubling down, often beyond their limits. Over-exertion is common. Effort is the by-word. Nothing comes easy. But it comes from a place of wanting to do good.

This can be seen in the flowers.

Delicate and airy but focused, each flower is a spark and sparkle of thought. There is a sense of ease and openness that brings gentleness to a world of steel.

All of Bach’s flower essences are made from flowers, except one - Rock Water.

Is it really a flower essence?

All flower essences are made with spring water which makes it an integral part of the essence.

Spring water is used because it is newly emerged from the ground making it a fresh slate for essence making.

Rock Water comes from a well or spring which is in a natural state and also known as a healing centre. The source should be protected by natural forces but untouched by man and not controlled in any way.

Water is a medium that readily absorbs the thought forms and patterning to which it is exposed. By choosing a spring or well in its natural state, it is free from patterning that might influence the essence.

A Rock Water person shows the rigidity and obduracy of stone that contrasts with the softening, fluid movement of water. The complementary gestures are illustrated immediately by the two elements involved. Rock Water is a blank slate, an opportunity to reset and return to our natural state – losing rigidity of thought and action.

It is no coincidence that all flower essences are made with pure spring water as it emerges from the earth into the light. Water is the message carrier.

Tomorrow is the first day of Yule. The 12 days of Yule begin with the solstice and last until the new year. They are days between time belonging neither to one year or the next,

Letting go of the old year and preparing for the new, Yule gave rise to the modern tradition of new year’s resolutions.

There was much merriment and ritual during Yule which has been adopted and adapted over time. One of the traditional blessings and toasts of this period is Waes Hael, which means be whole, be healthy. In more recent times this has evolved into wassail, synonymous with traditional celebrations.

Waes Hael seems a perfect toast to raise to the work of Dr Bach, whose entire life was devoted to the cause of being whole and healthy.

Soy débil, sí, sé que soy débil, pero ¿por qué? Porque he aprendido a odiar la fuerza y el poder y el dominio, pero si erro un poco en la debilidad, perdonadme, ya que sólo es una reacción a la aversión a lastimar a los demás, y pronto aprenderé a saber cómo encontrar el equilibrio entre ni lastimar ni ser lastimado. Pero, por el momento, prefiero haber sufrido que haber causado un momento de dolor en mi hermano.

Así que tened paciencia con vuestra pequeña Centaury, que es débil, lo sé, pero es una debilidad en el lado correcto, pronto creceré y seré más grande y más fuerte y más hermosa hasta que todos me admiréis por la fuerza que os proporcionaré.
