Contrary to common perception, truth is not arbitrary or subject to changing opinions. It is a tangible entity that can be explored, investigated, and discovered by those who earnestly engage in the quest.

Those who embark on the journey toward truth often find themselves confronted with a intricate landscape, made of shadows and elusive lights. However, it is precisely amidst this dark forest that the true essence of the quest unfolds. Truth does not hide of its own accord but is often veiled to the eyes of those blinded by their own limited perception.

Anyone who dares to look beyond social conventions, preconceived beliefs, and dogmatic ideologies can catch glimpses of the first flames of truth. It is as if a spectrum of light unfolds before them, revealing the hidden depths of reality. But this vision is not reserved for a select few or for naturally enlightened minds. It is an intrinsic ability of every human being, a kind of "mental eye" that can be refined and cultivated through practice and reflection.

The word magnetism expresses the action and not the nature of the great universal agent which serves as mediator between thought and life. This agent is the infinite light or rather (for the Light is only a phenomenon) is the light bearer, the great Lucifer of Nature, the mediator between matter and spirit,’ ignorant and impostors call the Devil, and which is the first creature of God.

What is more absurd and more impious than to give to the Devil, that is to say to Evil personified, the name of Lucifer which signifies Light-bearer?

The intellectual Lucifer is the spirit of intelligence and love; it is the Paraclete, it is the Holy spirit, and the physical Lucifer is the great agent of Universal Magnetism.

To personify evil and make of it an intelligence, a rival to God, which can moreover understand and can no more love, this is a monstrous fiction. To believe that God permits this evil intelligence to deceive and destroy his feeble creatures already so weak in themselves, is to make of God a Personage more wicked even than the Devil; for God, in taking from the Devil the possibility of repenting and loving, himself forces him to do evil. Moreover a spirit of error and falsehood can only be a thinking folly, and does not even deserve the appellation of spirit. The Devil is the opposite of God, therefore if God defines himself as the one who IS, the Devil must be he who is NOT.

It is certain that to act one must be, and that to sin one must have a conscience, and that, therefore, one cannot be born guilty; that one cannot make anything out of nothing; that God cannot be a man, nor a man God; that God can neither suffer nor die; that a woman who gives birth to a child cannot be a virgin, etc., etc.

No one, then, can seriously affirm the contrary of these truths, so palpable and evident, without warning us that there is a mystery in it, that is to say a hidden sense which must be extracted and understood under pain of becoming either an unbeliever or a fool.

Death merely expresses the fact that the original supersensible world reached a point beyond which it could not progress by itself. Universal death must needs have overtaken it, had it not received a fresh life-impulse. Thus this new life has evolved into a battle with universal death. From the remnants of a dying, rigid world there sprouted the seeds of a new one.

That is why we have death and life in the world. The decaying portion of the old world adheres to the new life blossoming from it, and the process of evolution moves slowly. This comes to expression most clearly in man himself.

The sheath he bears is gathered from the preserved remnants of the old world, and within this sheath the germ of that being is matured which will live in the future.

Thus man is twofold: mortal and immortal. The mortal is in its last, the immortal in its first stage. But it is only within this twofold world, which finds its expression in the sense-world, that he can acquire the requisite faculties to lead the world to immortality.

Indeed, this task is precisely to gather the fruits of the mortal for the immortal. And as he glances at himself as the result of his own work in the past he cannot but say: “I have in me the elements of a decaying world. They are at work in me, and I can only break their power little by little, thanks to the new immortal elements coming to life within me.”

This is the path leading man from death to life. Could he but speak to himself with full consciousness at the hour of his death, he would say: “The perishing world was my task-master. I am now dying as the result of the entire past in which I am enmeshed. Yet the soil of mortal life has matured the seeds of immortal life. I carry them with me into another world.

To create, we must conform with the will of the Source as dictated by our individual souls. At a certain point in our evolution, we will take the notion of cocreation further when we become capable of unifying Divinity and matter to attain union within ourselves as well as with the Source.

If we remain separate, solely following the path of least resistance (or matter) instead of working with Divnity, we as individuals will languish in an evolutionary state that is beneath what we are capable of achieving as group…..

When we hear the inner call for spiritual service work and we deliberately ignore it - or when we engage in spiritual work but choose to take the easier path by refusing to actively work on self-improvement or by using our positions of influence and our spiritual skills for purely selfish or destructive purposes, we will inevitably set ourselves back in the evolutionary process.

The process of judgment and karma that operates in response to every individual incarnation should not be confused with the paternalistic heaven-and-hell model that organized religion has often used to explain in unfortunately oversimplified terms that there are consequences for spiritual inertia (or, ironically, exploited to control the masses for selfish purposes).

In this game, for which we are optimizing our humanity, there is no church to berate us for our “sins” or to subject us to peer pressure to conform to a particular ideology. There is no physical hell to punish and torment us— at least not insofar as Earth is concerned. Our challenge is to be strong —and aware.

Moving in accordance with Divine will means that we must make certain sacrifices as we are put (somewhat unceremoniously) through the fires of spiritual initiation.

Enlightenment in its true sense will continue to be a lonely path for individuals until there is a critical mass of humans who are awakened to that cause and humanity collectively shifts into a higher vibration.

There is a true and a false science, a divine magic and an infernal magic—in other words, one which is delusive and darksome; it is our task to reveal the one and to unveil the other, to distinguish the magician from the sorcerer, and the adept from the charlatan.

The magician avails himself of a force which he knows, the sorcerer seeks to abuse a force which he does not understand. If it be possible in a scientific work to employ a term so vulgar and so discredited, then the devil gives himself to the magician and the sorcerer gives himself to the devil. The magician is the sovereign pontiff of nature, the sorcerer is her profaner only. The sorcerer bears the same relation to the magician that a superstitious and fanatical person bears to a truly religious man.

Before advancing further let us tersely define magic. Magic is the traditional science of the secrets of nature which has been transmitted to us from the magi. By means of this science the adept becomes invested with a species of relative omnipotence and can operate superhumanly— that is, after a manner which transcends the normal possibility of men.

To attain the sanctum regnnm, in other words, the knowledge and power of the magi, there are four indispensable conditions—an intelligence illuminated by study, an intrepidity which nothing can check, a will which nothing can break, and a discretion which nothing can corrupt and nothing intoxicate. To know, to dare, to will, to keep silence—such are the four words of the magus, inscribed upon the four symbolical forms of the sphinx.
