Last week, I had the chance to attend the 2025 European Hernia Society anual meeting in París, France 🇫🇷 where modern hernia surgery was born; learn directly from living legends in hernia surgery around the globe, as Dr. Yohann Renard, world known anatomist. Continuing medical education is the key to offer my patients the best quality care possible in hernia repair, bringing the best of the world to PV for one patient at a time.

The international hernia collaboration annual meeting took place in the the beautiful and white Mérida. I had the chance to participate as faculty. Great experience to collaborate with the greatest masters of hernia surgery all around the globe. Also, my young resident. Dra. Ariadna Mendez, presented a case of a minimally invasive repair for subcostal hernias. This is what’s all about, learn from other surgeons and motivate the youngers to grow their practice and evolve in the beautiful world of hernia surgery.

Testimonial 📣📣📣

76 year old patient who was operated by my team on September 5th, for a recurrent right inguinal hernia. A challenging case, due to previous mesh implanted by other team in 2006. Still, we were able to perform the repair safely, the patient did well as outpatient and was cleared to fly back to Canada 5 days after surgery.

We keep updating each other to know how he’s doing every week. It’s fascinating to know that after almost 2 weeks, the patient is starting to do some resistance training and he’s able to walk for more than 4 km a day.

That’s the compromise, to have a safe repair and look for the best outcomes one patient at a time.

American Hernia Society annual meeting 2024

In this meeting I had the opportunity to learn closely and directly from the most recognized hernia surgeons all around the globe.

I’m fully compromised with continuing medical education, to work each day with every patient with the most sofisticated tools, thecnology, and techniques in hernia surgery, to offer better outcomes one patient at a time to people in PV and those traveling for medical tourism.
