Yesterday, a patient came to me after waiting seven days. He was dehydrated, weak, and the “remedies” from the pharmacy and Google hadn’t helped.

Doctors often use the phrase “4 F’s” to remember who is more likely to develop gallbladder problems, especially gallstones:

Female → Women are statistically more likely than men.

Fat → Extra weight can raise cholesterol, leading to gallstones.

Fertile → Pregnancy hormones affect bile and increase risk.

Forty → Risk rises after age 40 as metabolism changes.

One day, my wife had pain in her right side. I proudly explained the 4 F’s like I was giving a medical lecture. Then I made the terrible mistake of joking that maybe she qualified… and let’s just say she was not amused.

Since then, I’ve learned the golden rule: never mention a woman’s age or weight unless you enjoy sleeping on the couch! 🛋️😂
