It’s starting to feel like summer here in Baja— the kind of heat that tells you it’s time to slow down, strip things back, and let the ocean do the talking.

As our season winds to a close, we’re feeling the pull to rest, reset, and savor these sun-drenched days (preferably with our feet in the sea and a cold coconut in hand). Upaya will be on pause soon — because honestly, it’s just too damn hot to retreat, to think, or to do much of anything except be.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Upaya!

We hope everyone had a beautiful weekend filled with love, connection, and appreciation for the incredible women who shape our lives.

We’re still feeling the powerful ripple effects of our last Epic Family Quest Retreat, where mothers and daughters came together in a sacred, supportive space to reconnect, reflect, and grow—side by side. It was a weekend we’ll never forget, filled with laughter, tears, breakthroughs, and so much joy.

The transformation that took place was nothing short of awe-inspiring. We witnessed families deepening their bonds, discovering new ways to communicate, and truly seeing each other in a way they hadn’t before. We saw girls stepping into their power—finding more confidence in who they are, how they express themselves, and how they move through the world.

To all the mothers: thank you. For your strength, your wisdom, your endless love, and your willingness to do the deep work—not just for yourselves, but for the next generation.

With Mother’s Day coming up, we’ve been reflecting on the deep power of shared transformation.

There’s something truly special that happens when healing is experienced between a mother and daughter. When growth is held in shared space, it opens a new layer of understanding, love, and connection.

We’ve had a couple of beautiful mother-daughter duos come to our retreats, and each time we witness a bond that grows stronger, softer, and more intentional.

Feeling so grateful to live in Baja… this place is seriously magic. The desert, the mountains, the ocean — it all creates the perfect setting for slowing down, reconnecting, and tuning back into yourself.

Upaya is tucked right into all of it — peaceful little nooks, epic views, fresh air, and space to just be.

This land really holds you. It reminds you of who you are and what matters. I feel so lucky that this is home, and that I get to share it with others who are on their own journey of healing, growth, and coming back to themselves.

That’s a wrap on another powerful Get Your Sh*t Together Retreat here at Upaya! — and wow, what a journey.

This week we closed out six days of deep healing, honest reflection, and life-changing transformation. Limiting beliefs were left behind, new truths were claimed, and everyone walked away lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. This work is real, and it’s powerful — no matter the group size. Even with a smaller circle, the breakthroughs were massive.

That’s the beauty of these retreats: they’re designed to hold space for both depth and ease. You’re not rushed. There’s time to rest, breathe, reflect, laugh, and really feel the shift happening in real-time. Watching this group come alive, support each other, and truly get their sh*t together has been nothing short of inspiring.

Yesterday for our adventure day on the Get Your Sh*t Together Retreat here in Baja, we took a trip out to the desert hot springs — soaking, relaxing, laughing, and just taking it all in. It’s such a beautiful reminder that even in smaller groups, the connection, the breakthroughs, and the transformations are just as powerful.

One of the special things about the Get Your Sh*t Together retreats is how they’re designed: even though they’re just six days, there’s plenty of spaciousness built in. It’s not about rushing through growth — it’s about having real time to land, reflect, breathe, and truly integrate everything you’re moving through. Adventure days like these are a perfect example of how you get to live the work, not just think about it.

After a day of soaking up the beauty of Baja, we were welcomed back with a delicious meal prepared by Chef Isra — the perfect way to nourish ourselves and close out an incredible day.
