I’ve been keeping this one mostly to my email list, but I thought I’d share it here too… 🌊✨

This January I’m hosting a very special retreat on the Sea of Cortez near San Jose del Cabo.

It’s an intimate gathering in a private ocean-view residence—just a 12-minute walk to the beach. The house itself is stunning: two rooftop decks for yoga and sunrise views, an infinity pool that melts into the horizon, open-air kitchen and dining spaces, cozy nooks for lounging, and spacious, light-filled rooms. It’s not available to the public—a true hidden gem.

We’ll spend the weekend resting, resetting, and dreaming into 2026 together. We’ll greet the mornings with yoga as whales migrate just offshore, share nourishing meals prepared by our private chef, Casey Miller 🙌, and close the days with breathwork beneath desert stars—woven with laughter, creativity, and deep restoration.

There are only a handful of rooms—and right now just two left: one single and one double.

Earlybird pricing ends Oct 1.

If you’re feeling curious or called, DM me and I’ll send you all the details. ✨

Last weekend I took a breathwork training with my teacher, David Elliott. It was my fourth time taking this class, and yet it felt completely new. It’s what I love about this work—the breath always meets you right where you are, and each time it opens something different.

After my partner Matt died suddenly in 2015, my breathwork practice felt cumbersome for a long time. It felt too raw, too close to the grief I was already carrying. Turning toward the breath was hard.

Until it wasn't.

Now, a decade later, I’m finding my way back. Each session opens a deeper layer, and reminds me that joy is possible, even when the world feels like it's falling apart. It feels like coming home.

One of the most valuable reminders for me this past weekend was that it’s possible—and necessary—to keep reaching through fear. To find the courage to love. To have the willingness to receive, even when it feels terrifying.

I’ll be leading a breath circle this Saturday in San Antonio if you’d like to experience this for yourself. And if you want to go even deeper, I’ll be teaching a weekend-long Healer Training (Level 1 ) in October—no experience is required, just your presence and your willingness to breathe.

Still feeling the ripple from Sunday’s Blood Moon eclipse? 🌕✨

Eclipses have a way of stirring things up—bringing truths to the surface and showing us what we’re ready to release. And now, we’ve stepped into the in-between: the two-week window from the lunar eclipse until the solar eclipse on the new moon (Sept 21).

This is a powerful time for clearing, healing, and intention-setting. In the Vedic calendar, it’s also Pitru Paksha—the fortnight of the ancestors—a season for honoring what we’ve inherited, letting go of old baggage, and choosing what to carry forward.

Some potent ways to work with this window:

🍁Begin preparing for an Ayurvedic Cleanse (registration for the Fall Cleanse closes Friday, Sept 12)

💆🏼‍♀Ground your body and nervous system with bodywork (available by appointment)

🌬Join the next Breath Circle on Sept 20—perfectly timed just before the eclipse window closes ✨

Your gut is more than just digestion—it’s the foundation of your health. 🌱

Your gut microbiome impacts your immune system, hormones, mood, skin, metabolism, and even your bones and joints. When your gut health is off, that imbalance ripples through every system in the body. When your gut health is optimized, every tissue receives the nourishment it needs to thrive.

Western science now confirms what Ayurveda has said for thousands of years: your gut health shapes the health of every system in your body.

When your digestion is weak or your microbiome is out of balance, the food you eat doesn’t fully transform into usable nourishment.

Instead of building healthy tissue, it leaves behind what Ayurveda calls ama—undigested residue that clogs the channels of the body.

That’s when we start to see symptoms pop up, such as:
🛌🏼 Low energy
✨ Foggy thinking
☃ Stubborn weight
🔥 Inflammation in joints or skin
⚖ Hormone imbalance
🤒 Weakened immunity

The good news? Your gut is incredibly resilient. With the right reset, it can begin healing surprisingly quickly.

One of the best ways to do this is through a seasonal Ayurvedic cleanse. Ayurvedic cleansing isn’t about deprivation—it’s about giving your digestion a break, clearing out what the body doesn’t need, and re-seeding the gut with the nourishment it’s been craving.

If you’ve been feeling the signs of a stressed gut—or if you simply want to step into fall with more energy, clarity, and groundedness—this is the perfect place to start.

🍂 I’ll be guiding this Fall’s Ayurvedic Cleanse Sept 26–Oct 9. Registration opens September 1st—stay tuned for more details.

I've been pretty quiet on here lately. But today is International Women’s Day, and women have been top of mind for me lately as I’ve been researching and preparing for my upcoming course, Essential Ayurveda for Women.

When I was studying Ayurveda in New Mexico, one of my teachers told our class: if you want to practice alternative medicine, you’ll have to specialize in women’s health. Her reasons? Most of our clients would be women, and most of them would be suffering from women’s health issues–ranging from painful me**es to menopause–that Western medicine does a poor job of treating.

For a long time I resisted this need to “specialize” in women’s health, but after nearly 12 years of practice, I completely understand my teacher’s point. Nine out of ten of my clients are women, the majority of whom found me because they were struggling with hormonal, endocrine, reproductive, or menopause-related symptoms. And they were frustrated by the cold indifference they found at the doctor’s office. Western medicine would do its best to erase symptoms—to throw pills at the discomfort—but would often fail to address the underlying issues.

One of Ayurveda’s primary principles of healing is to identify and remove the root cause. This is of utmost importance: you must remove weeds from the root, or they will grow back. The same is true for the root causes of our health ailments: if we don’t remove the root cause, symptoms will return.

But determining the root cause is not always easy.

When it comes to the modern epidemic of women’s collective suffering, how do we find and remove the root cause?

This is the topic I’ll explore in my upcoming online class, which is the first of 12 classes in the Essential Ayurveda for Women online course.

In honor of International Women’s Day, and Women’s History Month, I am making this first class free and open to the public. I believe the information I’ll be sharing is important for every woman to know.

Comment ROOTCAUSE below and I'll send you the link to sign up.

I will also be sharing details about the topics we’ll be covering over the next 12 months, along with some scholarship opportunities. I really hope you’ll join us!

The Spring Ayurvedic Cleanse is coming up soon (there are 3 days left to register) and I wanted to share a few things that are new this time around.

First of all, many of you have asked me over the years why I don’t include oatmeal as a breakfast option. In the past, I haven’t included it because oats can aggravate kapha and therefore aren’t the best option for certain constitutions. Since I try to keep the recipes tridoshic, I’ve left oatmeal out. But this spring I’ve found a workaround for kapha, and so I’ve included “oatmeal” recipe options for each dosha.

Second, for those of you who miss bread during the cleanse—especially with all of the yummy soups and stews—I have included a cleanse-friendly gluten-free bread recipe in this spring’s manual!! This recipe is so delicious. Yes requires baking, but it’s pretty simple to make (no yeast or kneading), and it’s incredibly satisfying.

And finally, if you’ve stayed away from the cleanse because you don’t enjoy all of the cooking, I’ve got you covered! This cleanse includes options for preparing nutrient-dense, cleanse-friendly meals that are ready in 20 minutes, and are about as simple as boiling water.

Cleanse registration closes at midnight on March 7th—be sure to sign up before then! Link in bio for more info.

This past summer in San Antonio, and in many parts of the country, was the hottest on record. I don’t know about you, but I am feeling it.

According to Ayurveda, there are certain seasonal routines we should follow to restore and maintain balance and overall health. In the transition to fall, Ayurveda recommends a cleanse in order to remove the accumulation of doshas (imbalances) that occur from the extreme heat of summer.

Ayurvedic Cleansing is an excellent way to clear out the accumulation of heat and reset your digestion, which becomes more sluggish with hot temperatures. In doing this, you will also strengthen your immune system and deeply nourish the tissues of your body.

This fall marks 10 years since I first started guiding group cleanses. Over the years I’ve learned a lot, and this cleanse has gotten better and better. Since guiding those first 10 people through this process, it has continuously been one of my most popular offerings. This cleanse can change your life—it’s changed mine.

The fall group cleanse is happening October 5-18.

To be sure you have ample time to prepare, today - September 21st - is the last day to join.

In case you haven’t heard, my new course, Women’s Wellness Through Ayurveda, is open for registration-but only through the end of today.

Creating this course has been my passion project for the last two years, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you. This is stuff that I truly believe every woman should know about how her body functions, what healthy aging looks like, and how to manage and prevent the diseases I see so many women struggling with.

In this 12-week course, we’ll dive deep into topics like hormone balance, thyroid issues, metabolism, fatigue, fertility, menopause, osteoporosis, cancer prevention, and so much more. I’ve seen firsthand with my clients how effectively Ayurveda can help to manage and heal these conditions.

If you want to learn how to balance your hormones, optimize your metabolism, restore vibrant health, and move through life with more ease, then this course is for you.

Ayurveda’s greatest gift is imparting the knowledge you need to become an expert in self-care, so you can slow the aging process and enhance the quality of your life.

No one knows your body like you do, you just need to learn how to listen to it.

We start Wednesday. I would love for you to join us.

The connection between hormone balance, stress, and overall health is often overlooked, and can be difficult to address—especially because western medicine just doesn't offer any great solutions.

How do you know if your hormones are out of balance?

▶You commonly feel anxiety, worry, or stress for no/any particular reason.

▶You have had panic attacks, heart palpitations, or an accelerated heart rate.

▶You struggle with depression.

▶You’ve experienced any of the following associated with your menstrual cycle: headaches, mood swings, acne, bloating, constipation, heavy or scanty bleeding, painful cramping, irregular periods, pain at ovulation, or bleeding between cycles.

▶You experience hot flashes, night sweats, and/or insomnia.

▶You’ve been diagnosed with a thyroid disorder or other endocrine disorder.

▶You’ve struggled with infertility.

▶Your diet and exercise routine haven’t changed, but suddenly you are gaining weight.

▶You get sick frequently.

▶You are burned out, and frequently exhausted.

If any of this sounds like you, your hormones are likely out of whack. And you are not alone. Studies show that up to 80 percent of women will experience hormone imbalance in their lifetime.

Although there are dozens of hormones with differing functions, the approach to balancing them can be quite simple when you understand the root causes of hormone imbalance, and learn ways to restore your body's natural intelligence to harmonize and heal.

Which is why I’m offering this new, free online class.

In this class, you will discover:

▶The 3 root causes of hormone imbalance and how to address them.

▶The two main categories of hormones, and how this framework can help you restore optimal hormone levels.

▶Two effective techniques for alleviating symptoms and restoring balanced hormones quickly.

A couple of years ago, when the whole world changed and we were all stuck at home contemplating the meaning of life, I had the time and space to be a student again. For me, this was a time to dive deep into Ayurvedic teachings, not just theoretically but to really embody those teachings in a deeper way.

Up until this point, most of my teachers in Ayurveda had been men. And most of what I had learned about women’s health came from these men. I felt a yearning to learn more from women teachers, with first-hand knowledge of living in a woman’s body.

So I did. I went on a deep dive into women’s health.

As I was learning from these incredible teachers, more and more women started coming to me for issues that statistically affect women more than men: hormonal issues, thyroid imbalances, autoimmune diseases, menstrual difficulties, fertility issues, breast cancer, bone loss, and perimenopausal/menopausal changes.

Western medicine just doesn’t have any great solutions for these problems. Women often come to me as a last resort, either because nothing else has worked, or they want to avoid the side effects of western treatments.

For the past two years I have been putting what I learned into practice in my own life, and teaching it to clients. And the results have been pretty astonishing.

So much of what I teach is stuff that every woman should know: how to regulate hormones and menstrual cycles, soothe and strengthen the nervous system, manage energy efficiently, and fully step into a life of more ease and balance.

Up until now, I've only taught this stuff one-on-one, but that's about to change. Stay tuned for more info, coming soon.

08/08/2023

Good health is something many of us take for granted. Unless you've experienced a health crisis or are managing a chronic condition, you might not pay much attention to your health, or messages of imbalance from your body.

But good health is much easier to maintain than it is to regain. Without good health, your capacity to live a free, purposeful, abundant, and joyful life is diminished.

Ayurveda's definition of health, according to Sushruta (second slide) is pretty comprehensive.

To further break it down:

Balanced doshas 🪴 These functional principles are responsible for everything that happens in your body. When your doshas are balanced, you don't have any physical symptoms.

Balanced agni 🔥 Your digestive fire is responsible for the transformation of food into nutrients for the tissues and cells of your body. Good digestion is needed for proper nourishment of your tissues.

Balanced dhatus 🧘🏼‍♀ Dhatu means “tissue,” and there are 7 tissues layers that comprise the body—plasma, blood, muscle, fat, bone, nerve, and reproductive tissues. All of these tissues must be balanced and of good quality to yield health.

Proper elimination of wastes 💩The three bodily wastes, urine, f***s, and sweat, need to be properly eliminated in order to maintain health and prevent the accumulation of toxins.

Blissful mind, soul, and senses 💆🏼‍♀ Feeling mentally well contributes greatly to your physical health and vice-versa. When your mind is content and peaceful, and when your senses are balanced—and not over-attached to gratification—you nurture a connection to your truest inner self.

One who is established in self 💃🏼 The word svastha, which means “self-established,” is also the sanskrit word for health. To be established in self means you feel at home in your body, content within your mind, and connected to your higher self/spirit. When you are established in this truth of your true nature, health is a welcome result.

We’ll begin with a grounding and centering meditation, followed by group sharing and an active breathing meditation.

Through rhythmic, steady breathing, this practice helps us shift from the active thinking mind, into the experience of presence and awareness in the body, which leads to increased clarity, emotional integration, and enhanced mind-body connection.
