Cheiloplasty for Lip Biopolymer Removal ✨

Our patient came to us with a history of biopolymers (permanent fillers) injected elsewhere a few years ago. She developed a permanent visible lump on the right side of her upper lip and a subtler one on the left, leaving her lips unbalanced. This is one of the reasons why biopolymers, or any other permanent filler, should not be used for lip augmentation; unlike hyaluronic acid, they cannot be removed if anything goes wrong.

Although her asymmetry was subtle, it had been bothering her for years. During her consultation, we reviewed both the benefits and the possible limitations and risks of surgery. This is essential as every patient deserves to fully understand whether the potential benefits outweigh the risks before deciding to move forward.

She is very happy with her outcome and so are we!

Procedure was performed very comfortably under local anesthesia in about 45 minutes. Recovery takes 5-7 days. Post op massages are recommended to improve recovery and lower the risk of fibrosis.

Our patient is on her 40s. She had some laxity and a slight excess of neck fat that was bothering her. Although she was also a candidate for a and she wasn’t ready for these procedures yet; so she decided to have something less invasive but still having a very good result.

FaceTite is a great option for patients with early laxity usually in their 30-40’s. It’s typically done along with liposuction and helps to stimulate collagen production and have a better skin contraction.
