Menopause doesn’t start at 50—it begins with how you’ve treated your body all along.

Every time you pushed through your period.
Every time you ignored the fatigue, masked the cramps, took a pill and kept going.

It’s like running your car 16 hours a day and never turning it off.
Perimenopause isn't your body failing- it just needs rest.

When perimenopause came earlier than expected, I thought I had all the tools.

I’d been practicing yoga—Iyengar yoga—for years.
I followed the menstrual sequence religiously.
I didn’t push through my period. I honored it.
And I truly believe that saved me during perimenopause.

But still… it caught me off guard.

My digestion shifted.
My sleep changed.
My emotions felt more raw.
I knew something was happening, but I didn’t fully understand it yet.

My practice gave me patience, grounding, and a way to listen when things began to shift.

But Ayurveda?
That came later.

And once I discovered it, I realized how much more support I could offer my body—through food, rest, routine, and slowing the nervous system way down.

I still use those tools now—every day.
Because this stage of life isn’t a problem to fix.
It’s a realignment.

If you’re in your 30s or 40s, start now.
If you’re already in it, it’s not too late.
If you’re past it, there’s still plenty you can do to support vitality and ease.

💬 DM me, comment "vitality" or click the link in my bio to book a free 30-minute call.
I’ll help you figure out where to begin and what your body’s been trying to tell you all along.

You can start listening now. 🌀

📍I Tried Every Yoga Class… Until One Finally Made Me Stay"

I bounced around going to classes at ashrams, gyms and fancy studios. I sweated through Bikram. Tried vinyasa flows with playlists and young teachers talking ancient philosophy while burning candles.
But something was missing.

I didn’t want another workout.
One day, I stepped into an Iyengar Yoga class. It had been years since I had tried (and didn't like) this method of yoga. But my meniscus was torn and I wasn't getting what I was looking for in the other classes. I walked into a class way above my ability, and I'm sure the teacher was rolling their eyes, … but something landed.

Not floaty. Not blissed out.
Present. Stable. Rooted.

👉 Yoga isn’t about escaping your body—it’s about coming home to it.

That was 25 years ago. And even now, Iyengar yoga continues to meet me exactly where I am—through grief, anxiety, aging, and change.

This practice has depth. Structure. Integrity. It doesn’t ask me to perform. It invites me to learn.

🧭 If you're craving something more than a sweaty flow,
🧭 If you’re tired of chasing yoga that doesn’t stick,
🧭 If you want to be taught, not just guided—

✨ Start here.
DM me “Iyengar” and I’ll send you a few ways to get started—whether you're brand new or ready to go deeper.

School's OUT

You’ve made it through the year—barely. Your body’s talking, your nerves are frayed, and you know something has to change… and you were going to start yoga but you had no time and you aren't sure where to start.

The interpreting profession asks for a lot.
Your mind. Your body. Your voice. Your presence.

And slowly—if you aren't careful—your identity.

You start to believe that being an interpreter is all you are.
That is you don’t eat, breathe, and sleep this work, you’re somehow less dedicated.

But here’s the truth:
You are so much more.
And the cost of ignoring that? It's steep.

What parts of yourself have you hidden away?
What passions have you put on hold? What light have you quietly turned down?

If you continue —your body starts to speak:

Pain.
Inflammation.
Depression.
Anxiety.
Shut down.
Burnout.

This isn’t just about boundaries.
It’s about wholeness.

You can be fully yourself and do this work, In fact, it makes you better at your work and it’s the only way to truly sustain a career—and a life—you love.

This profession needs your skill, yes—but also your full humanity.

So here’s your invitation:

✨ What are you hiding away?
✨ What light has been dimmed?

What is your burnout risk? I created a quiz - put quiz in the comments and I'll send it over to you.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, confused, or totally turned off by what you’re seeing in the yoga world—

I get it. I really, really do.

I just had the same experience trying to find a class in a beach town I’m staying in.

I'm open to practicing a different style and it's fun to be in person.

But what I found? My jaw dropped.

The photos of contortions are not classical asanas - Tattooed, bikini-clad bodies.
No teacher bios. No mention of lineage or philosophy.

Just image-driven branding that looks more like a fitness ad than a sacred tradition.

If you’re starting out, how would you even know where to go?
If you’re in pain, or concerned of injury or in a bigger body, or just want to learn with integrity?
It’s alienating. And honestly—it’s not yoga.

I usually don’t say much about this kind of thing.
I believe everyone has their own path.
But sometimes, not saying anything starts to feel like complicity.

I’m endlessly grateful I found Iyengar yoga—a method that’s intelligent, respectful, and built to sustain a lifetime of practice.
It’s helped me stay active, do my job, and find steadiness in times of chaos.

It’s about depth. It’s about resilience.

If you're out there feeling confused or discouraged—I get it: there is another way.

Send me a comment "yoga" and I'll help you move through this maze of yoga.

🌼 Feel a Little Off Lately?

It Might Be Time for a Spring Reset 🌼

Winter has a way of settling into our bodies—heaviness, sluggish digestion, mental fog. That’s the earthy weight of the season. And as spring starts to melt it all away, we’re meant to release.

But if we don’t? That damp, sticky energy can build up and leave us feeling congested—physically and emotionally.

🌟 This is where Ayurveda shines 🌟

No fads. No harsh cleanses. Just a time-tested approach to gently clear out what your body no longer needs, so you can feel lighter, clearer, and more grounded.

If the chaos of the world is wearing on you, or you just feel out of sync, this is your invitation to realign—naturally. 🌿

I'm on my FOURTH Ayuvedic detox and every time it's different and every time I learn new things.

It's had such a profound effect on me - I want to share it with you!

in Ayurveda, spring is the time to do a seasonal cleanse which includes easy to digest diet, herbs and a reset of daily habits.

Spring carries the qualities of wetness, heaviness, and warmth, which align with Kapha dosha (earth + water elements). As the weather warms, the snow melts, and moisture increases, Kapha can become excessive, leading to feelings of sluggishness, congestion, and allergies if not balanced.

How This Affects You
You might feel heavier, more lethargic, or sluggish as Kapha accumulates.
Congestion, allergies, and mucus buildup are common in spring.
Digestion may feel slower, making it easier to gain weight.
You may experience mental fog, dullness, or lack of motivation.

How to Balance Kapha in Spring
To counteract the heavy, damp qualities of spring, Ayurveda recommends:
✅ Eating lighter foods – Favor bitter greens, astringent fruits, and warm, dry meals. Avoid heavy, oily, or cold foods.
✅ Using warming spices – Ginger, black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and cayenne help ignite digestion and clear mucus.
✅ Getting active – Movement is key to shaking off winter stagnation. Try yoga, brisk walks, or dancing.
✅ Waking up early – Avoid sleeping in, as it increases Kapha’s heaviness. Aim to rise before 6 AM.
✅ Dry brushing & self-massage – Dry brushing stimulates circulation and lymphatic flow, helping to reduce excess Kapha.

I don't know about you but the last few months have been heavy - not all bad but those lessons that come with some pain - not to mention the chaos upending everything we know to be right and the unbelievable anxiety of....what's next?

I, for one am looking forward to letting go and getting some energy and mental clarity for the season.

You?

I'm guiding a Spring cleanse very soon! Please put your favorite flower emoji and I'll send you the details.
