Transpersonal Psychology is the fifth school of psychology, which focuses on human potential rather than human dysfunction, honors the entire spectrum of human experience, and considers how we may foster the fulfillment of our highest human potential. Transpersonal psychology combines behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, and depth psychology, as well as Eastern and Western philosophy, mysticism, min

dfulness, ecopsychology and nature therapies, and cross-cultural spiritual traditions. I specialize in end-of-life support, anxiety, trauma, loss and grief, women's psychology, dreams, creativity and innovation, Taoist inner arts, mindfulness and embodiment practices. I am an End-of-Life Doula trained with the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA) and Doorway Into Light, honorary CareDoula, a certified Professional Dream Worker from the Marin Institute for Projective Dream Work, Archetypal and Cross-Cultural Psychology practitioner, trained with Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Psychosynthesis therapist, Compassionate Inquiry practitioner, trained with Dr. Gabor Maté, Ordained Interfaith Minister, and Biomagnetism and Biodecoding therapist. I am co-founder and president of the Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (EKR) Foundation chapter in Central México, deputy director of education of the EKR Foundation Global, EOL Doula educator of INELDA, curriculum coordinator of the International Study program of the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death, and Advisory Board member of A Beautiful Dying Expo. I facilitate a transpersonal process for individuals and groups, online and in person, to aid participants in better understanding their active embodiment of the creative process and the cycles of life-death-life. Creative embodiment considers conscious and unconscious self, personality, and experience as the raw material for the creative project that is our human existence. This process recognizes how creativity informs our lives through identifying our prime resources, uncovering and defining our potential, and manifesting our authentic self in order to live the most vibrant, joyful, and meaningful creative life until the end. This process incorporates embodiment practices, authentic movement, creative connection through expressive arts, sleep and waking dreams, applied imagination, reframing of personal narrative, and the transpersonal resonance of archetypes, myths, and symbols.

Yesterday during our training at , a participant shared a thought-provoking perspective about the state in which a dying or grieving person may often find themselves: non-ordinary reality. That in-between, that altered state of consciousness that we often witness or that we ourselves in our own life transitions or grieving process may find ourselves.

Last night, at 10pm, 14 hours into a full day of video interviews and training facilitation, I found myself in a non-ordinary reality of sorts, entering into a creative, mysterious, extraordinary exploratory conversation with John Garay of the-- for me in that moment appropriately titled--show Transmissions from the Interzone at the Radio Kingston studio. By far, this has been the most far out live radio exploration of death yet! I am so grateful for the experience shared.

Though the various aspects of contemplating our life we learn to live more mindfully each day, each moment, each hour, acknowledging that our mortality is our greatest teacher.

This year-long study group is based on Stephen Levine's process of living this year as if were our last, as outlined in his book, A Year to Live.

Day and time of monthly meetings will be determined based on availability once the group begins to form. Space is limited. Reserve your place by Jaunary 19, 2025

All the stuff we have in storage, corners, boxes, attics, basements, that are rotting, breaking, rusting, collecting dust, nests for moths or mice, all these things, literally and figuratively, show up all at once in the garage of our awareness before death. Dealing with physical stuff with its parallel of dealing with emotional, spiritual, mental stuff is what we have to deal with before we can feel more prepared to let go of our past, of our life, of what no longer serves.

We hold on or can't let go because the job feels impossible when so much has accumulated. We are conditioned to identify what we want, and not so conditioned to consider how we welcome things into our life. What do we really want and need to welcome into our lives, into our consciousness?

Every offer is an opportunity to choose whether we will welcome something in or not, and we have the right to do either.

• Does this really promise to be what I really want or need?
• Does it have a purpose? What value does it bring?
• Is there anything else that has that value or place in my life now?
• Can this be an exchange, rather than accumulation, of what has value for me?
• How does it serve me? How does it help me serve so that it's not just about my benefit from it?
• What position—physical, mental, emotional, spiritual—could it have in my life? Is there space for it?
• What is its life span? How can I honor and recognize that and that it will need to move forward or die so it doesn’t remain stagnant?
• How can I sustain its vitality and purpose?
• What is my commitment with it, to it, as my acceptance of it commits it to me?

We have a responsibility with what we welcome in. It is not momentary love or infatuation that fades or is forgotten. How may we best be fully mindful, intentional, reciprocal, responsible with what we welcome in?

Life is made up of surviving losses, big and small, and grief is the process of transformation that those losses initiate. Part of this process invites us to review our life until this moment when things can no longer be the same, and we cannot return to how things were before the change, to make meaning of things as they are, and make new choices, because, even when sometimes it feels like we could not survive the situation, we are still breathing, and our heart is still beating.

Change can be disorienting, and also offers the possibility of discovering new information, connecting to truths in us we were not aware of, and defining new priorities. In loss, through grief, we discover, beyond anything we've heard or been told, truths that require our attention. Taking the time to connect with these truths and integrate them into who we are becoming, while we are still breathing, and our heart still beating, is learning. And this is how we grow and evolve.

May we accept the invitation to learn from all of life's situations.

We just completed the 8th in-person training for volunteer Life, Death & Transition Doulas in México, with members from around the world.

We identify and explore the diverse ways we show up and contribute, as individuals within a team, and as a team in service to a community, learning in practical, intuitive, embodied ways how to best serve as compassionate companions, and collaborating to craft personal and collective guidelines that foster healthy, optimal teamwork.

We have entered a new level of deep understanding, not only of how we got to where we are today with our death culture and our grief culture, but how systems have cracks through which light shines and guides us to better understand what is needed and how we can work with it to effect change from within.

The labor of compassionate accompaniment focuses on self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-responsibility, grounded in intention. We cultivate and promote a way of being, of being in the moment, of entering into presence, and thus being able to create and sustain safe spaces.

Because, and ¡I insist!, it is all about supporting each other and celebrating the unique contributions each of us brings to this collective effort to evolve our death and grief culture. Thank you my dear friend and admired colleague Dr. Pranab Basu in India, for the opportunity to elevate and highlight the most phenomenal manifestation of transforming and healing through grief that is contained in the publication of his latest book: Positive Life Transformation: A Blessing of Bereavement, for which I had the honor to write the foreword. Fundación Elisabeth Kübler-Ross México Centro Elisabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation May we continue to advance the movement with the support of those we work alongside, because even when we are effecting change in different continents, we are working together, supported by one common goal 🙌🏽 to grieve and die better, and be positively transformed because of it.
