Good afternoon.
We would like to make a comment on the post by Ernesto y Perla Hernandez and the GoFUndMe campaign regarding the Family Delores, following the tragic su***de of a young man unable to pay his bills due to losing his job.
We at Los Senderos were very concerned about the family situation (also being neighbours of Ejido TIrado) so went to talk to Perla and also to the "wife" of the man who committed su***de - shown with children in the photo.
What we found out is that he didn't have a wife and kids. The photo on FB shows his mother with his sister and her kids. He was living in Nigromante with his boyfriend. Also, he didn't work in Hotel hacienda, he worked in Rancho Salida Dolores Hidalgo. Family didn't receive any support from them.
We asked the mother what kind of support she is looking for and she said that only to cover the funeral - $16,000MXN - and she showed us the receipt of money already paid to the funeral services.
She was very open and very honest saying that's all that she needs.
On the other hand, Perla told us that Hotel Hacienda is sending support to the family and the funeral to pay $32,000 MXN.
We know that there is fundraising made for the family, but we are concerned that the mother will not receive the money.
In our opinion the best way its to send money directly to the mother , avoiding the mediator (as it looks that they are not providing honest information)-although she does have employment, and the only thing she needs is help with the funeral costs.
We have a copy of the funeral bill and photo of the mother of the victim as proof we actually went and talked to the family if anyone is interested.
We feel badly for them as they clearly live in poverty as does most everyone in Ejido de Tirado - but this was a manipulation of foreigners generosity, by a 3rd party, and is shameful. I think the money raised by GoFundMe should be returned to the donors, except the 16,000 pesos which should be given directly to the mother of the deceased son.
