So often when we approach the mirror, there’s a quiet whisper waiting for us.
It says things like, “You better look good,”
or “Brace yourself… this might not feel great.”
That’s when I realized something powerful —
my self-talk was already deciding how the moment would go.
So I tried something different.
I paused.
I softened.
And I said, “I love you, no matter what.”
And something shifted.
My reflection changed — not because my face changed,
but because my energy did.
Connection replaced criticism.
Safety replaced judgment.
The more I practiced it, the more it carried into my day.
I felt freer.
Lighter.
More alive.
And something else happened…
When I wasn’t busy managing or judging myself,
I could actually be present with others.
I felt comfortable in my own skin — and not just as a phrase,
but as a lived experience.
My relationships deepened.
My energy opened.
My life felt richer.
