Our thoughts on surf (life) lessons…🏄

It’s no surprise that surfing has become a form of therapy. Surfing is a unique sport. It’s one of the most direct forms of contact with nature that you can get while performing athletically. 🌊

Not only is it a great activity for your mind-body-soul, it can teach you a lot about life. The feeling of catching a wave, your resilience to getting back up and paddling out when you fall, your timing and even your mood while you're surfing. 🧠 All of these parts of surfing can teach us about our day-to-day life. We also know that surfing for the first time can be an empowering experience, and that's why it’s one of our favorite parts of a Blue trip. And of course seeing all the photos afterwards. 😉

2 things you need to know about creating an optimal morning routine👇

We know, we know – there’s an overwhelming amount of info on a “morning routine” these days. If you’re like us then chances are you’ve tried just about every kind of morning routine 😂

At Blue we believe that if you’re struggling with your morning routine, there are two really important factors that can help you nail it down!

🧠1. Andrew Huberman suggests that getting sunlight in your eyes first thing in the morning is the most important part of waking up. Huberman explains that exposure to direct sunlight is the single best way to improve your sleep, metabolism and energy throughout the day. It supports neurobiological and hormonal functions that reduce stress and offsets cortisol.

🧘2. Find what works and stick to it. Don’t overwhelm yourself with a million different things to do if you’re just getting started. Too many things to do in the morning can make you feel pressured and set you up for failure instead of success. Pick one, do it consistently every day, and after 30 days begin to habit stack and incorporate one more thing. Keep at this pace and you’ll have yourself an optimal morning routine in no time!

Remember it doesn’t have to be 4 hrs long! Small habits matter most.

Did you know that these beautiful flags aren't just for looks? 👀

At Blue, we value cultural immersion when visiting a new location. That's one of the main reasons why we chose vs. a hotel secluded in nature.

These beautiful flags are called papel picado, dating all the way back to the Aztecs, this craft utilized the bark of mulberry and wild fig trees to create delicate, intricate paper known as amatl.

Papel picado can be spotted all over Sayulita, it's absolutely a must see!
