Sentimental Sunday
Hurry up… and get here.
So you can slow down.

We forget that our bodies are supposed to be connected to natural surroundings. Somewhere deep inside, we still long to sit in nature and watch leaves move in the trees. We ache for the safety of stillness, the deep knowing that comes from immersion in nature — not just seeing it, but breathing it in.

The hustle helps us survive. But it doesn’t help us feel.
We weren’t meant to live inside boxes, staring at screens, speeding past life on highways.

At Amari, we invite you to hurry up and arrive — so you can slow down and return to yourself.
Here, beauty isn’t just a view. It’s a medicine. A mirror. A reminder.

Come for the magic.
Stay for the beauty.
Let your nervous system remember.

Taking bookings now live on the webpage. We have special pricing activated for our soft opening.
Please like us, follow us us and give us all the feels….

Spotlight Friday: Frutería Alejandrina — A Taste of Sayulita

On Calle Revolución, just a few blocks from the beach, there’s a little shop that quietly captures the spirit of Sayulita.

Frutería Alejandrina is more than a fruit stand—it’s an introduction into the flavors and stories of this land. Run by local vendors who source directly from nearby farmers, this humble space offers an ever-changing spread of fruits, herbs, and ingredients that feel like love letters from the earth.

You’ll find pineapples, guavas, and carambola. Lemongrass and Thai basil tucked beside creamy avocados. Sometimes there’s nance (that sweet, tart jungle fruit you didn’t know you needed), and seasonally, figs and berries that come almost perfectly ripe.

There’s a fridge full of basil, cilantro, pine nuts, and fragrant dried chiles—ingredients that turn simple meals into soulful ones. And if you know to ask, behind the counter you might just find locally made granola, native nuts, and pantry staples unique to Mexico—rich with depth and history.

This isn’t a big-box experience. It’s personal. It’s rooted. It’s Sayulita.

So if you’re staying in town—skip the chain stores. Step into Frutería Alejandrina, where everything is chosen with care and community in mind.

Wonder Wednesday
There’s a kind of magic that happens in Sayulita when the sky can’t decide between thunder and light, and a rainbow slips quietly in.

This was one of those moments — sudden, electric, unforgettable. The kind that asks you to pause, to put the phone down for just a second (after filming, of course), and really feel the wonder.

Rain and thunder shaking the air, a rainbow stretching across the sky, and all of us lucky enough to be here to witness it.

Sayulita doesn’t just show you beauty — it surprises you with it.

Come for the magic, stay for the views

Sentimental Sundays – Honoring the Mothers

Today is Mother’s Day. And while we honor the women who’ve carried and birthed children, we also want to honor all forms of motherhood.

There are many ways to mother.

Some of us give life through our bodies. Some of us give life through our hands, our hearts, our work, or our presence.

Let’s honor the women who raise children, and the ones who raise businesses, communities, art, ideas, and gardens. Let’s honor the grandmothers who bring laughter to the house. The aunties who make you feel seen. The women who carry so much without being asked—and still show up with love.

Let’s honor Mother Nature, who creates without needing anything back. She keeps growing, blooming, making space for life, even when the world doesn’t notice. She reminds us that beauty doesn’t have to shout.

Let’s honor the moon and the ocean, who work together in rhythm. One pulls, the other shifts. That’s what real relationships look like. They create movement, not control.

At Amari, we’ve always tried to follow that kind of example.

When we started this project, we didn’t clear everything away and start from scratch. We listened to what was already here. We honored the original house that came before us—now aptly named ( Villa Ama - literally the mother house) that helped plant the first seeds of this space. We didn’t bulldoze. We built with care.

We kept the mama mango tree, and we call her that for a reason. She’s part of the family. She’s been here longer than us, and she’ll probably be here after us too.

That’s the kind of motherhood we’re celebrating today—the kind that makes room, that nourishes, that protects the original spirit of a place, a person, or a dream.

You don’t have to have children to be a mother.

You just have to care deeply.
To help something grow.
To offer love without needing to fully control the outcome.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in every form.

We sees you. And we’re grateful. Come for a visit!!

Spotlight Saturday: The Hands That Built Amari
Yesterday was meant to be Spotlight Friday, but life had other plans. So today, we’re celebrating Spotlight Saturday — because the gratitude is still here, and the story Amari Sayulita matters.

As many of you know, tomorrow is Sentimental Sunday and also Mother’s Day. We will be sharing something meaningful for that, so stay tuned.

But today, I want to honor the hands, hearts, and grit that built Amari Sayulita.

This boutique hotel may have a company name on the ownership papers, but the truth is, that was a small part of bringing it into the world.

The real spotlight today belongs to the workers and beautiful peoplewho transformed the humble Villa Aimée into the refined, soulful Amari Hotel Tropical.

Scroll through the photos and you’ll see:
• The carpentry shop launched by a business partner with the help of local carpenters as well as workers unloading heavy gear. “Poder Mexicano” is no small thing.
• A drone shot of the original property, raw and waiting in 2021 the month after purchase
• And a favorite images: a single flower from a nearby tree resting gently on fresh concrete — a quiet metaphor for what we created. From bare cement, wood, and grit… beauty bloomed.

It’s kind of cheesy to say “we couldn’t have done it without you,” but it’s also completely true. We created this space through sweat, laughter, setbacks, resilience, and vision — together.

With love from Sayulita,
Sunshine
