He was a member of the department of plastic and reconstructive staff at the Hospital General "Dr. Manuel Gea González" in México City. He was in charge of the body contouring and massive weight loss surgery clinic from 2009 to 2013. He has perfected and specializes in procedures for massive weight loss patients. Dr. Medina has imparted a number of lectures in massive weight loss surgery subjects. Patients undergoing bariatric surgery have subsequently great laxity and excess skin on the body. The most affected areas are the abdomen, breasts, arms, buttocks and thighs. This brings patients a number of problems, such as skin irritation, pain, grooming and exercise difficulties, as well as decreased self-esteem and self-confidence because of the deformities caused by excess skin. Post bariatric surgery, or massive weight loss surgery, consists of a series of surgical procedures where the body is reshaped by resetting and restoring the lax and redundant skin.
