About
My name is David Bass. Before I tell you who I am, I want to start by telling you who I’m not. I’m not a theologian, a philosopher, a psychiatrist, or a psychologist. I am a person who has, over the course of his life, been confronted with numerous challenges and adversities. I’ve faced the sudden death of my wife and son, serious medical issues, and numerous other problems that range from merely annoying to life changing. My most recent challenge has been the loss of a significant portion of my vision, making it impossible for me to continue in a career that I loved. The common thread for these issues is that each irrevocably changed the direction and pattern of my life. They have stayed with me and are now an indivisible part of who I am. I want to share with you what I have learned, and continue to learn, in the hope that my experiences will help you deal with whatever challenges you are facing. You should know that an integral part of my life is my faith as a Catholic Christian. While I know my faith will come through in what I write, my hope is the perspective you find here will be beneficial regardless of your personal religious views.
