⭐️ Bariatric surgery dietitians ⭐️ This open access review article has recently been published by dietitians from the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital (Emma, Hilary, Taylor and Carrie-Anne) and Professor Memon from the Sunnybank obesity centre.
Titled 'Micronutrient management following bariatric surgery: the role of the dietitian in the postoperative period', the review highlights the importance of dietitian involvement at all stages of bariatric surgery, especially in post-operative individuals who are looking to conceive.

Dietitians have the potential to improve patient outcomes at all stages of bariatric surgery, especially in helping individuals avoid long-term nutritional complications such as skeletal muscle and bone mineral depletion, vitamin B12 deficiency, anaemia and psychological support around their ongoing relationship with food.
