It was a privilege to host General Practitioners at the recent Cardiometabolic Symposium held at DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur. 💙

The symposium was more than just presentations — it served as a meaningful platform to connect, engage, and strengthen our relationships with the GP community. We take pride in contributing to Malaysia’s healthcare excellence during moments of international significance, as we hosted the Presidential Doctors and Embassy team from the Republic of Indonesia ahead of the ASEAN Summit.

On 23 October 2025, we received a visit from the Indonesian delegation as part of their final readiness assessment to ensure all arrangements were in place for the visit of His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, during the Summit.

The assessment was demonstrated by our Consultant Emergency Physician and Head of Emergency Department, Prof. Madya (K) Dr. Shahrul Nizam Ahmad Zamzali, who showcased Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital’s emergency preparedness and response capabilities.

Also present were Puan Suraya Sharif, Operations Manager, and Puan Hasnah Noratu, Chief Nursing Officer, who oversaw operational coordination to ensure everything ran smoothly in the event of an emergency.

The Indonesian delegation comprised Kolonel (CKM) Purn Dr. Astronias Bhakti Awusi, Sp.PK, M.Kes., Presidential Doctor of the Republic of Indonesia; Dr. Argo Sumateri, Diplomatic Doctor, Indonesian Embassy (KBRI); and Mr. Sukardi, Presidential Team, Republic of Indonesia.

Joining the visit as well were Dr. Norhidayah Mohd Shafie and Mr. Muhamad Saif Abd Manaf from the Ministry of Health of Malaysia (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia), who were present to ensure all medical and safety aspects were in order for both the President and the Indonesian delegation.

The visiting team was given a tour of the hospital’s facilities, including the area designated for the President’s stay should the need arise, as well as our advanced medical technologies.

Regional CEO (Central Region) for KPJ Healthcare Berhad and Covering CEO of Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital, Madam Hoo Ling Lee, said the hospital is deeply honoured by the trust shown by its international counterparts.
