CELL THERAPIES FOR AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER BASED ON NEW PATHOPHYSIOLOGY: A REVIEW
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), a neurodevelopmental disorder with increased global prevalence, lacks effective therapy. Rapid evidence links ASD to neuroinflammation, microglia, and glucose metabolism. Ten cell therapy studies for ASD report positive outcomes. Neurophysiological impairments include communication, cognition, and motor skills. Emerging focus on immune pathology and glucose metabolism suggests new avenues for ASD treatment.
Research on ASD and neuroinflammation, microglia, and glucose metabolism has surged. Cell therapies, especially MSCs, emerge as promising ASD treatments. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10069005/
