When care goes beyond treatment, it builds trust.

Shahana Sultana from Bangladesh was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the Rahid family faced uncertainty. That changed the moment they met Dr. Melissa Tan, Consultant Breast and Oncoplastic Surgeon, whose expertise and calm presence brought clarity and reassurance.

Shahana’s surgery was a success. She continued her recovery under Dr. Muhammad Azrif, Clinical Oncologist, who supported her through every stage of radiotherapy with compassion and conviction.

Throughout her treatment, the family travelled between Bangladesh and Malaysia: a testament to the trust they placed in our multidisciplinary team and the comfort they found in our care. Mr. Rahid later returned for his own health screening at Prince Court, while their son felt equally at ease, cared for with warmth and attentiveness.

To the Rahid family, thank you for sharing your journey and placing your trust in us. Your courage and resilience continue to inspire our commitment to patient-centred care. We are truly honoured to walk this journey with you.

Seven years ago, emails from two mentors I deeply admire — Fiona MacNeill (Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon) and Paul Harris (Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Breast Surgeon) — landed in my inbox.

They were more than a welcome to consultant life (then in the UK 🇬🇧, now in 🇲🇾). They were a quiet passing of the torch — a gentle, affirming reminder that I, too, could walk this path with purpose.

This May 2025, Fiona MacNeill received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Breast Surgery UK 🇬🇧 — an honour so richly deserved.
MANY congratulations! 🎉

To have walked beside her as a fellow shaped not only my surgical practice, but also my heart, values, and standards.

We don’t just treat breast disease — we hold stories, fears, hopes, and lives.
I’m grateful every day for mentors who show us how to do it with wisdom, strength, and grace.

Feeling so loved today — thank you to my amazing husband and daughter for making me feel truly special and happy.
Standing in front of the Twin Towers, I couldn’t help but think: like these iconic towers, your love lifts me up and grounds me at the same time. Strong, steady, and beautifully connected, your presence gives me the strength to stand tall and the courage to shine. Grateful for the love that holds me together and makes life so beautiful! Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums who are celebrating today!
