👁️💙 我们很感恩今天有机会在威中佛教会进行慈善眼睛筛查活动，此活动是由JPWK与威中佛教会青年组协办，并由YB Heng Lee Lee 慷慨赞助的健康计划的一部分。

看到社区民众热烈参与，不仅踊跃接受我们的眼睛检查，也积极参与其他健康检查项目，令人感到非常欣慰。衷心感谢主办单位的支持，也感谢所有到场参与的民众，为健康迈出重要的一步！

👁️💙We are grateful for the opportunity to conduct a charity eye screening today at Persatuan Ugama Buddha Seberang Perai Tengah, as part of the health program organized by JPWK, Persatuan Ugama Buddha Seberang Perai Tengah and generously sponsored by YB Heng Lee Lee.

It was heartening to see such a strong turnout from the community, not just for the eye screening by our team, but also for the many other health services provided. A big thank you to the organizers for their support and to everyone who came for taking a step toward better health!

Last Sunday, our team conducted an eye screening for local residents at Kepala Batas. Unknowingly, this was our second time returning to the same location after a year. We are very grateful to the enthusiastic members and board of the Kepala Batas Charity Hall for organizing last week's free eye screening event. It's Glaucoma week now (10-16/3/2024) ! What is glaucoma? Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive, degenerative disorder of the optic nerve that produces characteristic visual field damage. Glaucoma is the second cause of blindness, and importantly: it is irreversible!

It is estimated that around 80 million people have glaucoma worldwide. Approximately 50% of the individuals with glaucoma are unaware that they have the disease, and this number may be even higher in underdeveloped countries. This is because in its early stages, glaucoma is asymptomatic. If untreated, glaucoma may progress to blindness.

Periodic testing allows early diagnosis to prevent visual disability. So, make sure you get your eye screening done at least once when reach 40 year old, or earlier if needed.

又是青光眼周啦（ 2024年3月10-16号）。什么是青光眼呢？青光眼是一种慢性、进行性、视神经退行性疾病，会产生特征性的视野损伤。青光眼是导致失明的第二大原因，而且重要的是：它是不可逆转的。

据估计，全世界约有 8000 万人患有青光眼。大约 50% 的青光眼患者不知道自己患有这种疾病，在不发达国家这个数字可能更高。这是因为在早期阶段，青光眼是无症状的。如果不治疗，青光眼可能会发展至失明。

定期测试可以进行早期诊断，防止视力障碍。所以，确保您在40岁的时候至少做一次的眼睛筛检，或如有必要更早。

昨天我们的团队成功地在 #高渊佛教会 为附近的居民进行眼睛筛检。这次活动很高兴有缘跟自己的小学老师及一班热心公益活动的佛教会理事和会友一起举办昨天的免费眼睛筛检活动。在此特感激许会长的安排及全会友的帮忙。

Yesterday our team had successfully organised an eye screening for residents Nibong Tebal Buddhist Association Hall. A very special event this time as I get help from my previous primary school teacher and the whole team from Buddhist Association Nibong Tebal to make such a great event. There is a great take away from this morning and this has been all possible because of you and your efforts.

Because of time limitation, there are still a lot of people did not get to be screen this round. Hope we can come back soon to help those who did not make it this time. 2023年世界视觉日的主题是： 在工作中爱护你的眼睛。 旨在帮助人们了解在工作场所保护视力的重要性，并呼吁企业领导者优先关注各地工人的眼睛健康。

研究显示，90巴仙的职工眼睛损害其实都是可以避免的。无论您身在何处，从事何种工作，都必须在工作中优先考虑和保护眼睛健康。 这包括从避免工作场所的事故（这些事故往往是由视力不良引起或导致的）到提高生产率（如果优先考虑工人的眼睛健康，生产率就会大大提高）等各个方面。

图片是一名工人在处理化学剂的搬运时，因为不小心弄倒而导致化学剂进入眼睛。由于当时他没有佩戴任何护眼用具，化学剂直接接触眼睛而照成眼角膜损伤。化学剂对眼睛的伤害是足以致盲的。

预防胜于治疗, 所以正当的保护眼睛-包括佩戴护眼具，定时让眼睛休息（20-20-20 法则），以及矫正屈光不正等措施都可以减少职工伤害。
