Fondly referred to by the villagers as ‘Ka Chow Chim’, Madam Ooi further improved her formula with local Malaysian herbs and continued serving her community for as long as she lived. In 1957, her son saw an opportunity to turn the successful formula into a booming business that eventually became a household name in Malaysia.
