It is bad news for CASP . Malaysian AIDS council seems not to be functioning. We are not being supported by the council or the Ministry of Health. As of today we have not received any grant to run the Shelter. We , it seems to have been abandoned by MAC and the Ministry of Health. We are in dire straits.

Dear all, Casp Shelter Home BM has not received any assistance from the government. No news from the ministry of health. It is July now and we are running short of money. We need help in the form of money to pay the caregivers who work 24 hours in shifts.

We have admitted a new client brought in from Penang island. I wonder how long we can continue without the assistance from the government. We have not received a grant which we normally receive which would cover 60% of the expenses. Now we are left in the lurch. We are in a very difficult situation.

It is almost the end of the year and we find that our bank balance would not be able to pay for the running of the shelter fully as there is a shortfall.

The rising cost of living is having an impact on our financial status. We are finding it difficult to make ends meet.

We have at the moment 18 clients at the shelter who need 24 hours care. There are patients on the waiting list but we are unable to receive them due space and financial constraints.

Casp Shelter Home BM has been waiting for the last 6 months and have yet to receive a grant from the ministry of health. We are running low in cash to pay the care givers. We are desperate.

I would like to say to the general public that we are not going to receive any money from the government to provide assistance for the shelter - for people living with HIV.

One Hope Charity gave a cheque for RM5, 000 to CASP at their annual event.This society has been giving us their support over the last few years and also to other NGOs. There was a demonstration on the use of Automated External Defibrillator. Units were donated to several schools in Bkt Mertajam. CASP is grateful for their continued support. Met Dato’ Chua Sui Hau and Dato’ SriR. Arunasalam and thanked them for their continued support.
