Dr. Wee Kok Wei is a highly experienced consultant psychiatrist practicing at Klinik Pakar Dr. Wee, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of mental health. He embarked on his academic journey by graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine from Universiti Sains Malaysia. Dr. Wee's passion for psychiatry led him to further his studies, and in 2009, he earned a Master's Degree in Medicine specializing in psychiatry from the same prestigious institution.
After completing his postgraduate studies, Dr. Wee began his career as a medical lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia, where he imparted his knowledge to aspiring medical professionals. His dedication and commitment to patient care led him to assume the role of psychiatrist at Hospital USM, where he honed his skills in diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions.
In 2011, Dr. Wee transitioned to the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, UCSI University, Terengganu Campus, where he served as an associate professor and psychiatrist. Concurrently, he took on the responsibility of overseeing Liaison Psychiatry and running the General Adult Psychiatry Clinic at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah in Kuala Terengganu.
From 2016 to 2018, Dr. Wee also served as an associate professor at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), contributing significantly to the education and training of future healthcare professionals in the field of psychiatry. However, in August 2018, driven by his passion for direct patient care, Dr. Wee made the decision to transition fully into clinical psychiatry. He joined Island Hospital, Penang, with a renewed focus on providing comprehensive mental health services and making a positive impact on the lives of more patients.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wee has conducted numerous research projects and contributed to multiple publications, showcasing his dedication to advancing the field of psychiatry. His expertise extends beyond clinical practice, as he has been invited as a speaker to share his insights on topics related to mental health, Adolescent and Child Psychiatry, Depression, and more. Dr. Wee's passion for psychiatry and commitment to improving the well-being of individuals make him a valuable asset to Klinik Pakar Dr. Wee and the mental health community at large.
