CHOLESTEROL

• Cholesterol is SO VITAL to our health and well-being, virtually every single cell in our body can manufacture it! And did you know that LOW levels of cholesterol are actually MORE of a concern, as they are linked to depression, aggression and Alzheimer’s (and other neurological dementias).

• Cholesterol is the STRUCTURE which forms the base of all our s*x hormones, bile acid and Vitamin D. Pretty important!

• And we now know that cholesterol is a very poor predictor of HEART DISEASE. Most people with heart disease actually have what’s termed ‘normal’ cholesterol levels. And most people with so-called ‘high’ cholesterol levels have HEALTHY HEARTS.

• Cholesterol is only a problem when it is OXIDISED (damaged). Once it is damaged, it sticks to the lining (endothelium) of our blood vessels and starts the process of inflammation. And there are many ways your cholesterol can become damaged (as I cover in my monthly newsletter).

• Essentially it is the TYPE and SIZE of cholesterol carrier that is the best indicator of heart health. Small dense angry oxidised little LDL cholesterol carriers are dangerous while the large, happy fluffy ones are heart-healthy as they cannot pe*****te the endothelium.

• TRIGLYCERIDES are a much better predictor of heart health or disease than cholesterol and this is a serious marker you need to be aware of.

INFLAMMATION is the true cause of heart disease. And what causes inflammation? You guessed it, a high carbohydrate diet, high insulin levels due to dysregulated blood sugar, processed foods, seed oils, stress, smoking and excess alcohol. This isn’t rocket science.

Now that you know your cholesterol is not out to kill you.
