Our Story

Starlight Optical was first established in 1968 by Madam Ho in Kangar - a small coastal town in the state of Perlis. It operated for 16 years before Madam Ho took a break in 1984. Starlight Optical then resumed its business in 1993, relocating from Kangar to Jitra, Kedah. Subsequently in 1996,Madam Ho shifted her business to a small town called Changlun in Kedah. Madam Ho stayed in her business for 18 years until she opted for partial retirement in 2013.

As part of her long term plan,Madam Ho instilled in her only daughter,Tracy,interest in the business since young. Tracy spent three years, from 2001 to 2003, studying her FBDO (Fellow of British Dispensing Opticians) at the Axismatics Professional Institute in Kuala Lumpur. Tracy , finally, graduated from the institute and has been a qualified dispensing optician since August 2003.

In early 2005 , after gaining experience and exposure in optical industry, Tracy returned Changlun to assist Madam Ho with the daily operations of Starlight Optical. Towards the end of 2005, Starlight Optical opened its first branch in Changlun new town, Starlight Changlun Optometry managed by Tracy. Here, Tracy would like to welcome all of you to her shop, and is always ready to give her best service to her clients. See you!
