💙🧩 Sabah Is Giving RM350 Monthly Autism Support — A Small Number That Could Mean Everything to Families
Sabah’s government says it is providing a RM350 monthly subsidy for parents who send their children to registered autism intervention centres in the state. The support was presented as a way to ease therapy costs, with reports noting that autism-centre fees can exceed RM600 a month for some families.
Timeline
→ In August 2025, Sabah was already publicly linked to a RM350 autism subsidy, with earlier reporting showing the subsidy reduced fees at the Sabah Autism Centre (PAUS) from RM650 to RM300 for enrolled children.
→ On 21st of April 2026, Datuk Rina Jainal said the state is providing a RM350 monthly subsidy for parents sending children for treatment and therapy at registered autism intervention centres in Sabah.
→ She said the subsidy is meant to reduce families’ financial burden, and linked it to Sabah’s efforts to expand autism intervention access.
→ The announcement is putting fresh focus on a practical issue many families know too well: awareness matters, but affordable therapy access matters just as much.
💙 Early help should not depend on whether a family can absorb another heavy monthly bill.
🌱 Real autism support begins when treatment becomes easier to reach, not harder to afford.
