Breast milk is the perfect first food for your baby 👶🏽

It's safe, clean, and packed with antibodies that protect against common – and dangerous – illnesses.

Breastfeeding also defends babies from malnutrition and supports mums by lowering the risk of diabetes, obesity and some cancers.

WHO recommends:
✅ Start breastfeeding within 1 hour after birth 🤱🏽
✅ Breastfeed exclusively for the first 6 months 🍼
✅ Continue alongside family foods until at least 2 years old 👶🏽

----------------------------------------------------

Cadangan WHO:
✅ Mulakan penyusuan dalam masa 1 jam selepas kelahiran 🤱🏽
✅ Susukan secara eksklusif selama 6 bulan pertama 🍼
✅ Teruskan bersama makanan keluarga sekurang-kurangnya hingga umur 2 tahun 👶🏽

Have you noticed? Babies want to breastfeed more often during our hot days.

You can offer the breast more frequently to ensure they stay hydrated. You don’t need to give babies under 6 months additional water or formula – even in hot climates.

Our climate can be draining, don’t forget to look after yourself too! Remember to
✅ Drink more water
✅ Take breaks and rest
✅ Stay in shaded or air-conditioned areas if possible

A pleasure to welcome Professor Caryn Chan to the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural Sciences for Better Health. She joins a global network of experts advising World Health Organization (WHO) on how to apply behavioural science to improve health outcomes from shaping people-centred policies to designing more behaviourally informed public health initiatives.

We had a meaningful exchange on the role of academia as vital engines of innovation, generating evidence that helps us understand and influence health-related behaviours, from increasing cancer screening uptake to reducing to***co and va**ng use.

At WHO, we continue to draw on the expertise of academic institutions to inform our work. Looking forward to working together to integrate behavioural evidence into national health strategies and strengthen the impact of public health initiatives within our Member States.
