Our Story

The Global Service Centre (GSC) was established in 2008 to offer administrative services to programmes and staff from the World Health Organization (WHO) and partner entities (UNAIDS, UNICC, and UNITAID). GSC provides services in the areas of Global Human Resources, Global Payroll, Global Finance, Global Procurement and Logistics, and Internal Management and Support. GSC also hosts part of the Information Management and Technology department which includes the Global Service Desk (GSD) and other technical teams.

  • Early 2008: with the generous support of the Malaysian government, the Centre is established in record time and quickly expands to more than 200 staff.

  • 2008 to 2011: Global Management System (GSM) system launch and GSC services expansion to all WHO major offices as well as to some of the partner organizations (UNAIDS, UNICC, APOC and UNITAID).
