“PT MILL”

A *mill* is a place that prioritises numbers over quality.

This is by far one of my most heartfelt reviews just from the sincerity and beautiful vocabulary to express the complexity of physiotherapy. Soft skills don’t trump hard skills, they complement. And they stand out when you are treating a living human being.

I’ve learnt more lessons from Brent than I have taught. Understanding chronic symptoms and working through them with exercises that he can use when he is back sailing is vital. I’m glad that it helped him return!

Communicating your analysis well and explaining the progress of symptoms in rehabilitation is usually taken for granted. From mechanics of injury to joint compensation to chronic adaptation, physical conditions require good listeners and better detectives.

TW: This can be a hiring post

Student training is exciting and exhausting. But it is inspiring. There’s a lot of talent and hardworkers out there that need to find out how impactful a physiotherapist can be, and I can only hope to fulfil that. Those who would like to find out about our methods, the door in Madras Lane is always open.

I had a lot of fun! Thanks for assisting!

If you’ve been keeping up with my reviews you’ll notice a similar pattern. I talk too much. The idea of education and raising awareness not of physiotherapy but about how the mechanisms and the biological cogwheels are working, excite me. It’s a tough process, but it bears great quality and result for rehabilitation.

What a cute review. Handling a condition during pregnancy can be tricky, the process is humbling and attention to detail of symptoms outside of expected condition, identifying prenatal discomfort was primary. Thank you for the review!

Reading between the lines during the session is one of the most important roles of a physiotherapist. The hardest but most meaningful part in a session is finding out what the client is truly looking for, even if they don’t know what that is. I’m glad to have made the difference.

Throwback to our RFQS Based Flossband training course last August by Stefan! Thank you and .global for the opportunity!

The assessment, analysis and treatment skill has targeted segments of our treatment that complement the missing components.

From fascia adhesion to compensation and circulation, Stefan taught us how the flossband covers a great range of concerns.

TW: we are hiring!

These beautiful women are the stronghold of the Penang team. My great mentors, my attentive mentees. We have gone through every wave together through the chaos and the calm.

I love them to death, but I am bored of their faces. Aspiring physiotherapists out there, if you think you fit in the first picture beside me, we are looking for fresh faces, fresh chemistry. Drop us a dm for hire!

Chemistry

Thank you and for creating team culture. Handling problems doesn’t always boil down to root pain and problem solving. I had the right team to build that trusting environment.

I wanted colleagues that I could give a high-5 to in the middle of sessions. I got them.

Bryant is a dear friend of mine who experiences chronic back pain ever since we were kids.

The problem with conditions like his is time. The longer we let a condition sit in, the more the body adapts. Dealing with chronic conditions requires a broad, yet detailed explanation on the potential root of the pain and how the body has adapted over the years. Symptoms have to feel different(changed) before they can feel any better.

Epiphany is a strong word!

Ibn has been travelling around the world the past 2 years with a condition that led to his foot drop. Re-education is a process, and the first step is to understand his direction toward rehabilitation.

Education, identification and motor neural relearning is a tough process to comprehend without the proper tools, from proprioception, to joint sense to movement and function. I’m glad I made his trip to Malaysia worth it!

TW: This is a hiring post

A value I often take for granted is the confidence to treat a loved one. A close friend, a teammate, a family member. To be so sure of your skill that you put your name on the line without second thought.

2 years ago I didn’t think a session could be a magic performance. I didn’t think physiotherapy had any capacity of inspiration.

I could look at my mentors eye level, and guidance came easy. I was not exposed to pressure, I was exposed to integrity.

In the right culture I grew my values independently, while representing the same core vision with my team.

I am thankful for for being real with me, even with an awful first impression. for letting me learn on my own pace.

To the aspiring physios who I’ve met and haven’t, find yourself a team that isn’t insecure with your potential. A team that will be as good mentors as they will be mentees.

If we fit the bill, we’d look forward in seeing you in the interviews!

Anatomy and diagnosis

Peter is the first patient to bring a nip of whiskey into the clinic to prepare for pain 😂

During the months into the pandemic I’ve been working with Peter on a pain he’s had over the buttock. It has strengthened since then and to this day we work on improving the mechanic and rhythms of the joints involved. There is more to immediate treatment, as accurate diagnosis comes first.

Mechanics and missing components

Miguel came in to the clinic seeking for a solution for his consistent numbness over the lower limbs as he stood or walked. He has been involved in extreme yoga as he calls it, for well over 20 years and was curious if we could help resolve his concern.

We tend to underestimate mechanics and missing components during movement and exercise. Miguel found out through the assessment he has been lacking core engagement and has always relied on his flexibility without stability. Massive progress with the first session!
