It was established in July 1973 as the first private hospital in Penang and was formerly known as Penang Medical Centre (PMC). In 1989, Parkway Healthcare took control of the hospital by holding the majority of shares. After group restructuring Gleneagles Penang was then integrated into the Parkway Pantai Group, a subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad (IHH). Today, Gleneagles Hospital Penang is an iconic premier medical centre in the Northern Region of Malaysia with a bed capacity of 360 providing full facilities and services. Gleneagles Hospital Penang is a modern tertiary care private hospital strategically located in the heart of Penang island. It was established in July 1973 as the first private hospital in Penang and was formerly known as Penang Medical Centre (PMC). In 1989, Parkway Healthcare took control of the hospital by holding the majority of shares. In 2010, Khazanah National Berhad acquired the entire shareholdings of Parkway. After group restructuring Gleneagles Penang was then integrated into the Parkway Pantai Group, a subsidiary of IHH Healthcare Berhad (IHH). Today, Gleneagles Hospital Penang is an iconic premier hospital in Malaysia with a bed capacity of 360 providing full facilities and services.
