On 6 March 2026 (Friday), CareClinics Poliklinik Maxwell had the pleasure of visiting our valued corporate panel partner, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). 🤝🏢

The visit was conducted by Dr. Zulkarimah, PIC and Resident Doctor of CareClinics Poliklinik Maxwell 👩‍⚕️, together with Mr. Ajwad Fadhlullah from the Corporate Health team. During the visit, we had the opportunity to meet with :

1. Datin Ratnawati binti Mat Jusak, Senior Manager (Business sales & eration) BSO Utara, and
2. Puan Munirah Binti Mohamed Adnan, Manager (Business Sales & Operation) BSO Perak.

The engagement aimed to strengthen our collaboration and explore ways to further enhance healthcare support for TNB employees through accessible and high-quality medical services. 💼🏥

During the discussion, we also shared that CareClinics Poliklinik Maxwell successfully underwent the accreditation audit on 5 February conducted by the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH). Tuberculosis (TB) Awareness
Early Detection Protects You and Others

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health concern.

🥵 Persistent cough,
🥵 Unexplained weight loss,
🥵 Prolonged fever,
🥵 Night sweats, or
🥵 Abnormal chest findings should not be ignored.

At Careclinics Poliklinik Maxwell, Chest X-Ray serves as an important initial screening tool in identifying possible lung abnormalities suggestive of TB.

However, Chest X-Ray is only part of the assessment.

If TB is suspected, further investigations may include:

✅ Sputum smear for Acid-Fast Bacilli (AFB)
✅ GeneXpert MTB/RIF molecular testing
✅ Sputum culture and sensitivity
✅ Blood investigations
✅ Referral to government TB clinics for comprehensive management

In Malaysia, confirmed TB cases are managed under national guidelines through collaboration with the Ministry of Health Malaysia to ensure proper treatment and follow-up.

Early screening allows:

✔️ Reduced transmission risk

We recently joined the Smart Money for Seniors Program: Financial Management & Awareness, a two-day event focused on practical financial guidance for senior citizens at Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (PAWE) Tambun.

While the program offered valuable tips on managing finances and saving for retirement, our team was there to provide health screening services, including complimentary liver fat checks for participants.

Tuberculosis Outbreak in Malaysia:
A Workplace Wake-Up Call

Malaysia is seeing a rise in tuberculosis (TB) cases. This is not just a public health issue — it is a workplace risk issue.

TB spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. In enclosed offices, factories, dormitories, and transport environments, transmission risk increases.

Who is at higher risk?

1. Employees with Diabetes (poorly controlled blood sugar)
2. Individuals with weakened immune systems
3. Those with poor nutrition
4. Smokers

These risk factors are common within our workforce demographics.

For employers, one undetected TB case can lead to:

1. Mass screenings
2. Increased medical leave
3. Operational disruption
4. Escalating healthcare costs

Early detection and targeted health surveillance are significantly more cost-effective than outbreak management.

On 07 February 2026, our Imaging Unit successfully conducted a Radiology Workshop in collaboration with Sunway Medical Center Ipoh.

The session brought together radiographers from across Perak and provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, hands-on learning, and meaningful exchange of insights. Participants gained new perspectives and practical experience that made the workshop both informative and impactful.

The positive energy throughout the session made it an engaging and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
