Protecting Your Baby from RSV Starts with You

Exciting news for expecting parents! The Abrysvo vaccine, developed by Pfizer, has been approved for use during pregnancy to protect infants against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) — a leading cause of severe respiratory illness in babies. This vaccine is the only one authorized for use during pregnancy to safeguard newborns from RSV-associated lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) .

By receiving a single dose of Abrysvo between 32 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, mothers can transfer protective antibodies to their babies through the placenta, offering defense against RSV from birth through the first six months of life . This proactive measure significantly reduces the risk of severe RSV illness in infants.
