🪔 Failed IVF at 34… Pregnant at 41 — A Journey of Hope and Perseverance 🪔
Every fertility journey is unique — and Mr & Mrs. TP’s story is one that truly embodies patience, resilience, and unwavering hope.
I first met Mrs. P in 2017, when she was 34 years old. She had been married since 2015 and had been trying to conceive without success. Her cycles were irregular, and she was diagnosed with PCOS and a 7 cm fibroid, though it wasn’t distorting the uterine cavity.
Before seeing me, she had already tried several cycles with clomiphene under another doctor, and we later attempted one cycle with gonadotropins — unfortunately, that too was unsuccessful.
A year later, in 2018, she underwent IVF at another centre, but that attempt also failed. When she returned to me shortly after, the fibroid had increased in size, and we decided that surgery (myomectomy) was necessary. The procedure was done in 2019, when she was 35 years old.
We resumed treatment six months later with ovulation induction, but once again, there was no success. She then took a break from treatment.
In 2021, she reconnected with me, now 37 years old, with a desire to try IVF once more — this time with me. However, due to life circumstances, the plan was postponed, and I didn’t see her again until 2024.
At 40 years old, she was finally ready. Her ovarian reserve was still encouraging (AMH- 3.64ng/ml). We proceeded with IVF in May 2024, retrieving 26 eggs, of which 23 were mature, 13 fertilized, and 5 developed into embryos. Ultimately, we had two blastocysts — one top-grade (A) and one fair/good (B). Genetic testing @ PGT-A was not done.
Before the transfer, a hysteroscopy in December 2024 confirmed and removed an endometrial polyp we had suspected on ultrasound.
In January 2025, we transferred the Grade B blastocyst. Sadly, the Beta HCG came back negative. It was a difficult moment for them — but Mrs. P did not give up.
In July 2025, we transferred her final remaining embryo — the Grade A blastocyst. This time, the result was positive.
I still remember the moment I saw the report — I quietly sighed a deep sense of relief inside. After so many years, so many setbacks, and one last precious embryo, she had finally conceived.
Today, Mrs. P is happily in her second trimester, progressing well, and carrying her long-awaited miracle.
From her first IVF attempt at 34, to her success at 41, her journey is a testament that sometimes, it’s not about how many times you fall — but how many times you rise again.
Today, as Deepavali approaches, Mrs. TP and her family celebrate not just the Festival of Lights, but a very personal light of their own — a long-awaited blessing growing within her.
💫 To all couples out there still on this road — never lose faith. Your time will come.
