6 year old with mild asymmetrical pectus carinatum. My advice is to observe for next 3 years and can always apply the pectus brace when he reaches 9 years of age.

Haller Index 5.4 was corrected in Hospital Serdang. Result was very good. Correction was done using 2 bars horizontally.

Typically pectus bars are removed 3 years after insertion for pectus repair. Some callus or excess bone formation occurs around the bar ends where pressure on bone is strongest. Normal phenomenon when implants are positioned in or around bones.

6 months post pectus carinatum open repair. Before and after lateral chest x-rays. The sternal plate can be removed after a year.
