Of late, there are dozens of complications, including death, from cosmetic procedures done by unlicensed personnels. The Malaysia Society of Aesthetic Medicine (MSAM) would like to remind the public to be vigilant in choosing the licensed professional doctors for their aesthetic treatments.
The doctors should be working in a legit clinic registered under "Klinik" and not "Pusat Kecantikan" or "Wellness Centre" and having Borang B under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act, clearly stating that the clinic is qualified for "Perkhidmatan Aesthetic". Furthermore, the aesthetic medical doctors should have the LCP (Letter of Credentialing and Privileging) issued by the Ministry of Health.
Also, we would also like to warn the public that there are some imposter doctors, who are not medically qualified, calling themselves "doctors", and therefore it is important to also check if there are real doctors by going on to the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) website to check whether there are in the MMC register.
We feel deeply sorry for those victims and their loved ones for having to go through this difficult time. MSAM would like to prevent this from happening again by hoping that the public can share this information to all the people you care about. We should not let this sad incidence repeat.

Sejak kebelakangan ini, terdapat peningkatan kes komplikasi termasuk kes kematian dilaporkan susulan daripada rawatan kecantikan oleh pengamal kecantikan/estetik tidak berdaftar. Persatuan Perubatan Estetik Malaysia (MSAM) ingin mengingatkan orang awam supaya lebih berhati-hati dan memilih Klinik dan Doktor Perubatan Estetik yang berdaftar dengan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM).
Masyarakat perlu ambil maklum bahawa pengamal perubatan harus bekerja di premis kesihatan (Klinik/Hospital) dan bukan Pusat Kecantikan, Medispa, Pusat Jagaan Kesihatan (Wellness Centre), Pusat laser dan seumpamanya. Premis Kesihatan sepatutnya memaparkan Borang B yang dikeluarkan di bawah Akta Kemudahan dan Perkhidmatan Jagaan Kesihatan Awam dan mempunyai skop perkhidmatan "Klinik Perubatan Umum dengan Perkhidmatan Estetik" sebagai “area of interest” yang hanya akan diberikan kepada Pengamal Perubatan Estetik yang berlesen dan memegang Letter of Credentialing And Privileging (LCP).
Kami juga ingin mengingatkan orang awam agar tidak terpedaya dengan individu yang menyamar sebagai doktor, ataupun pakar kecantikan bertauliah. Bagi membantu isu ini, orang awam boleh memeriksa senarai Doktor Berdaftar di laman sesawang Majlis Perubatan Malaysia (MMC) dan juga membuat carian senarai Pengamal Perubatan Estetik dengan LCP di Portal Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia.
Kami amat kesal dengan insiden yang berlaku sejak kebelakangan ini. MSAM berazam untuk mengelakkan kejadian seumpama ini terjadi sekali lagi dan berharap orang awam boleh memanjangkan maklumat ini .

随着美学医疗行业大热，许多无执照的 “假医生” 与非法从业者趋之如骛，不但非法提供美学医疗服务，而且非法开展培训，销售美容假药。这些美学医疗乱象，不但叫消费者白白花钱，而且可能造成皮肤溃烂、毁容等后果，严重时甚至会致命。
全国有许多自称＂美学医疗＂的机构，但其中真正有资质的医生少之又少。马来西亚美学医科学会（MSAM）提醒并奉劝各位爱美人士，要慎防低价、虚假广告的诱惑，认真求证专业正规的诊所，以避免导致不可逆的后果。
首先，要选择正规的美学医疗机构，认清诊所标有“Klinik”字眼，而非“Pusat Kecantikan”或 “Wellness Centre”这类美容院 。按卫生部标准，美容院执行美学医疗是非法的。
第二，踏入美学医疗诊所后，要观察卫生部发出的营业执照，“Borang B”写有“Perkhidmatan Aesthetik”的字眼。按要求这执照必须挂在墙上，而且一般都会挂在比较醒目的位置。此外，主治医生必须持有美学医疗特别许可书（LCP），否则也是不合规格。
最后，要防范假医生。公众可以上Malaysia Medical Council（MMC）官网查询该医生是否有所注册。若查不到该医生的资料，则有可能为虚假执照或非法行医。
