Gleneagles Hospital Johor recently hosted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training for General Practitioners and Clinic Assistants from our primary care partners. Instead of just lectures, the session focused on real, hands-on practice to recognising cardiac arrest, performing quality CPR, giving rescue breaths and using an AED with confidence.
Primary care teams are often the first people patients turn to, and their quick actions can make all the difference in an emergency. Many who attended shared that the training helped them feel more prepared and more assured about what to do when every second matters.
All participants received a CPR certification, but more importantly, they walked away with practical skills they can use immediately in their clinics.
At Gleneagles Hospital Johor, we aim to be more than a referral centre. We want to be a hub for continuous learning and clinical education.
This programme also supports IHH Healthcare’s effort to train over 1,500 people nationwide, strengthening Malaysia’s network of first responders starting from primary care, where patient journeys truly begin.
