Gleneagles Hospital Johor is proud to mark another milestone as 16 Patient Care Assistants successfully graduated from our PCA programme, bringing the total number of graduates to 58.

This programme equips PCAs with essential theoretical knowledge, core nursing concepts and practical clinical skills to provide safe and effective basic nursing care across clinical settings, under the supervision and guidance of nurses and the multidisciplinary team. The course is fully aligned with Parkway service standards to ensure consistent quality of care.

Meet Ms Susanti, an Indonesian patient from Batam, who received treatment at Gleneagles Hospital Johor under the care of our Ophthalmologist, Dr Ho Hao Chi.

Ms Susanti experienced blurred and uncomfortable vision that affected her daily activities for one week. Seeking medical care, she travelled to Johor and was referred by another private hospital to Gleneagles Hospital Johor. After a thorough assessment, she was diagnosed with retinal detachment by Dr Ho Hao Chi and required eye surgery.

Following the surgery, Ms Susanti was closely monitored for a few hours and was able to be discharged on the same day. Her vision showed significant improvement after the procedure.

“I am very satisfied with the treatment and care I received from Dr Ho and Gleneagles Hospital Johor. He explained my condition clearly and made sure I understood every step of the treatment,” shared Ms Susanti during the interview.

His compassion has left footprints not only in operating theatres but in the hearts of those whose lives he touched, a legacy of compassion that will continue to beat on with every life he helped save.
