In the prosperous state of Johor at the southern tip of Malaysia, lies Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri. It opened in 2010 and is the company’s first multi-specialty medical facility. This multi-disciplinary specialist hospital caters to residents of new townships in Johor Bahru such as Nusa Idaman, Horizon Hills, Educity, SiLC and Ledang. A 10-minute drive from Johor Bahru city center also Singapore, Iskandar Puteri is a flagship zone of the Iskandar Development Region in southern Johor. The hospital was accredited by the Malaysian Society for Quality of Health (MSQH) in 2017. Specialist services available include Breast & Endocrine Surgery, Cardiology, Ear, Nose & Throat, Urology, Ophthalmology and Radiology. Our resident consultants are available for consultation during office hours while our 24-hour medical and specialist services are provided by Resident Medical Officers, Specialists and Paramedical Support Team.

We are delighted to welcome Dr. Surendran Ramasamy, our new Visiting Consultant Internal Medicine Physician & Rheumatologist, to Columbia Asia Hospital Iskandar Puteri.

Dr. Surendran provides comprehensive patient care and is skilled in a wide range of procedures, including intra-articular injections and aspirations, thoracocentesis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, abdominal paracentesis, pericardiocentesis, lumbar puncture, central venous catheterization, and bone marrow aspiration. He is also proficient in nailfold capillaroscopy, cognitive function assessment, end-of-life discussions, and delivering compassionate care across all age groups, from young adults to geriatrics.

Last Saturday, Columbia Asia Hospital Petaling Jaya successfully hosted our GP Symposium at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, bringing together approximately 60 General Practitioners for a day of knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and professional connection.

The symposium served as a valuable platform to strengthen partnerships between primary care and specialist services, while keeping our GP community updated with the latest insights in women’s and children’s health.

We were truly honored to host a distinguished lineup of speakers who delivered insightful and engaging sessions:

A Big Step Forward in Orthopedic Care!
